tmckinley - 8/9/2007 2:39 PMThe pads are visible from Titusville. I'd almost recommend staying in a hotel in Titusville (that way you have internet access) over watching from the causeway-no after launch traffic either.

dmc6960 - 10/9/2007 10:18 AMWell, I did get the causeway tickets, but I had to also buy breakfast with an astronaut which wasn't what I wanted, but still wont be all that bad itself. I'm really looking forward to this!
dmc6960 - 10/9/2007 12:35 PMOnly launch ticket holders can get to the Visitors Center on a launch day. Regular Visitors Center tickets are good on almost any other day.
TNCMAXQ - 10/9/2007 3:24 PMI think your view from there is fine but I am also curious to hear about other spots in Titusville. This Parrish Park on the 402 (?) causeway is intrigueing. I wonder if you might be a closer to the launch pads from there. But I wonder at what point that road is closed off since it looks like it leads directly to the north part of KSC.
Ray Todd - 6/10/2007 8:02 PMI was notified by my Congressman's Office on Friday that I had been selected/approved by NASA to receive VIP Tickets. I was told that I won't receive anything in the mail until next week. Does anyone know where the folks with VIP tickets will view the launch from? Thanks,Ray.
dmc6960 - 9/10/2007 12:06 PMHow'd you manage that?QuoteRay Todd - 6/10/2007 8:02 PMI was notified by my Congressman's Office on Friday that I had been selected/approved by NASA to receive VIP Tickets. Andrewwski - 9/10/2007 7:24 PMCongressman...as in a House represantative? And you basically just write a letter requesting VIP tickets, and hope you get them?

rgerhards - 14/9/2007 8:56 AMDoes anybody know if there is a problem if I drive to the visitor center's parking lot with a car full of luggage? I assume the screening happens at the "normal" KSCVC entry point after the ticket booth (and restrictions apply from there).Rainer
rgerhards - 14/9/2007 8:56 AMHas anyone experience in how long it takes to drive in from Orlando? I may have been too late to secure a hotel room close to the area (working on that ). So I may be forced to drive from Orlando, maybe from the airport area.Rainer

Do I need to allocate extra travel time when I drive in via SR-3 (I have the feeling that it can get much more crowded, but there is no substance for that feeling...)?Rainer
swifty - 10/10/2007 5:51 PMRayI just received my Banana Creek VIP pass in the mail. Even though I live just 2 hours south and have seen many of the launches from my balcony this will be my first at KSC. Hope to see you there. Are you meeting the bus at the mall?Steve
infocat13 - 11/10/2007 1:42 PMI have a military ID ( CAC ) card is there anyplace on the AFB that provides good viewing ?
swifty - 10/10/2007 12:09 AM... snipped ...Rainer –You should have a great time. Allow yourself at least one day other than launch day to check out the Visitors Center. Other than the historical and display exhibits, there are kid shows and they just built a thrill ride that simulates a shuttle launch. I was fortunate enough to be one of the guinea pigs and ride it before it opened.I have friends from Köln who loved the center. I would recommend that unless you are very proficient in English you opt for the German translation when available due to the technical language used on the tours. This was their one complaint; they thought they could get by.
I've made a picture of the bags I have on my mind - I'd appreciate some feedback from those of you who have already been through this.
Ray Todd - 14/10/2007 11:15 AMIn the information that I received, it states that I can bring a folding chair (that fits in a bag). From anyone who has made this trip previously, it is worth it to bring a chair or is there bleachers set up?
Ray Todd - 14/10/2007 10:15 AMAs I have already posted, I have received vip tickets to the launch. The tickets are for the Causeway location. In the information that I received, it states that I can bring a folding chair (that fits in a bag). From anyone who has made this trip previously, it is worth it to bring a chair or is there bleachers set up?Are there any suggestions for items that I should (or shouldn't for whatever reason) bring? Thanks,Ray.
KSC Engineer - 14/10/2007 5:14 PMThe only launches that didn't seem to be as meaningful were the ones I was busy trying to take a picture or get some good videos.
TNCMAXQ - 14/10/2007 10:30 PMI thought the food as Rusty's was excellent, and have had others recommend it.I hope there will be tents available for "congressional" guests again as there were for 117. That sure helped. If not I am hoping maybe I can stay on the bus and read or listen to my mp3 until closer to launch. One thing that will be different for this one is it will be the first time in years we will have a new voice of launch control. That will be memorable.

Andrewwski - 16/10/2007 9:29 PMIt was definitely nice to have. I couldn't imagine trying to wait all that time before launch without following it on this site. NASA TV is just so boring compared to what you can find out here.
Jim - 23/10/2007 3:06 PMFirst time viewing from the "new"desk. Being on the second floor allowed clear viewing of the pad above trees. Had AC and internet access
nasaman21 - 26/3/2008 7:51 PM I got a call from Sen. Kloubuchar's office today saying NASA would like my address. Does that mean I have VIP access?
Not necessarily, but it is a good sign. If they get back to you and ask for names of all guests in your party then you're getting closer.
