I've been advised to pay attention to A/G discussions about the Russian flight computers. There seems to be something unusual going on regarding them. I've been away the last hour so I haven't been able to monitor. I may go over to the post-MMT presser at 9 CDT. Any other questions need asking, on-line or off-line?

The reason for leaving the DLA is that it is in 'Drive' mode when it should be, and is commanded to be, in 'Neutral' for installation.
From the sound of it, due to being in 'Drive' the drive pinion is not rotating as the unit is pushed down and hence the teeth are clashing with those on the drive ring.

JimO, I was wondering this. If after Atlantis departs, and the Russian flight computers are non-functional/degraded, what happens if the CMG's saturate? Is there a tertiary control system?

My question would be: How confident are you that that the 2B array will come in nicely without any EV assistance?
