NASA briefing.
re impact sensor hit..
second, bigger hit last night -- right wing, panels 11 & 12, 1 G.
'something is going on -- could be thermal settling or deformation'
'we've seen it before' -- looked at it before, 'there was nothing there'
'We're not concerned about it.'

OK, so there was indeed a bigger impact, but still nothing of concern?
Plus, I just noticed, the reference you just made was to the right wing, MSNBC is referring to the left wing.

They think its something beside an impact fooling the sensor.
They don't have an impact "ring" so it wasn't an impact.

MSNBC just mentioned Atlantis again, but this time only referred to the OPS issue, not the wing impact.

Got to say! Just saw the MOST AMAZING pass i've ever seen. The stack got very very bright as it reached zenith and literally flared in almost the same way Iridium looks. It was a pure brilliant white flare which almost doubled the visible size!
Thrilled! I wonder if its the extra array or just coincidence!
Same here from Leeds!!
Absolutely stunning. Took out my binoculars - didn't need them!!
Now to see a daylight pass ?
I saw it in Oxford too! Absolutely stunning, flare and all. Deep blue sky and nothing in it but Venus and the ISS.

I would love to be a fly on the wall of the pre-mission status briefing meeting. They have a lot to talk about.
I get the impression those flies are the source for L2...
You don't even need flies, L2 gets you a comfy chair and a cup of coffee at the meetings

Looks like they will soon turn off the DAP and get the station to take over attitude control.

NASA TV Audio Clip from Video recorded from the Yahoo! 1200 feed.
OGG Vorbis form.
Please let me know how it sounds and if it is useful for anything.
There wasn't anything shown on the video feed other than the usual nonKU feeds. So the audio will do.
Study it, Learn or something.

Quick question RE: Tomorrow's 2B array retraction: During STS-97, when the P6 arrays were unfurled, I seem to recall one of the two arrays had a bigger problem deploying than the other. Was it 2B or 4B? And what effect is that likely to have on tomorrow's retraction?
EDIT: typos
