Got to say! Just saw the MOST AMAZING pass i've ever seen. The stack got very very bright as it reached zenith and literally flared in almost the same way Iridium looks. It was a pure brilliant white flare which almost doubled the visible size!
Thrilled! I wonder if its the extra array or just coincidence!
Same here from Leeds!!
Absolutely stunning. Took out my binoculars - didn't need them!!
Now to see a daylight pass ?

If Anyone has a good flyover viewing chance today. Go out and Look! We still have that single P6 array deployed and now is when it will be even brighter! It wont be this bright again until after the P6 Redeploy on STS-120.
Very much brighter,no doubt about it.ISS be able to see despite some thick clouds.Never happen before

I'd say about 90 percent luck 10 percent P6 array

Wing........ OMS Pod.... what's the difference. The associated press, another fine source of confusion.
Chris reported that a wing leading edge sensor reported a possible MMOD hit. Do a search for "WLE" from Chris and you'll probably find it.

Sorry, now they might have a fire on board in the FGB.
"multiple alarm messages"
may be a false alarm

They're saying it's only on the american laptop and not on two Russian (?) alarm circuits -- but are going through an FGB powerdown per procedure.

Haven't heard anything. And this site usually (almost always) has the news before anyplace else.
EDIT: Allright, I just heard it on MSNBC. They're claiming that there's an impact on the left wing near where Columbia was hit. They are talking about an MMOD.
They also claim NASA is "downplaying the situation".
My initial reaction is that MSNBC is overreacting to the situation. They claim it's "serious" and presents a huge problem.
Chris or L2 members, any news?

Did anyone notice that Clay seemed angry?
Sounded more emphatic than angry to me.
The clipped way that Suni initially reported it sounded a little more disconcerting...
