Anyone catch the spring reference? Is it on 1A or 3A?
Believe they're referring to something observed on the array they're going to try to retract tomorrow. They said they got some detailed pictures of it. Also made reference to their training.

It is great to see both arrays of S4 fully extended and to know we don't have to worry about SA retract with these arrays (unless the SSU unit (sequential shunt unit located at the base of arrays to regulate the voltages of the arrays that the arrays produce) fails, then the arrays need to be retracted to allow replacement of the SSU) to avoid high voltage conditions during a repair EVA). I remember reading about this contig. during STS-115 somewhere, that will be the time when these arrays are ever retracted.

They want to shine some light on some bays at night to count.
KFX Card downlinked.
Nice view of the array!

Three minutes to KU loss and ZOE, four minutes to sunset on this pass.

They have to retract the remaining P6 array before they can allow the S4 array to rotate, right?
Just like they did for the P4 array?

Reporting that they may be on Shuttle DAP Attitude control for a while longer due to some issue the russian segment is having.

Yeah - think the minimum that needs to be retracted to allow for SARJ rotation is 11 bays.

Sunrise is about 35 minutes away at 2:45 PM EDT. we will be on TDRS-West starting at 2:19 PM EDT, the KU coverage should resume shortly after TDRS-West acquisition but the coverage should improve by sunrise (unless there is some blockage by the complex).

This mission is sure getting better media coverage than I've seen in awhile here in California. I just saw several shots of wing deploy on local news and national coverage seemed pretty good the last couple of nights.

If you look at the image I posted in the Ku Loss post. You see the area sunrise is in is actually in an area of Good Comm so hopefully we will have Ku. Thanks!

That's right, full retract is not essential to allow SARJ rotation. Obviously full retract
is desirable while working on this, since it must be done anyway for the redeploy of P6.

They need to change their graphic of ISS on the tracking map to show a new set of arrays on the other end.

This marks the first time that 5 arrays have been deployed at the same time.
Perhaps the complex can now be seen in the daytime with the naked eye?

If Anyone has a good flyover viewing chance today. Go out and Look! We still have that single P6 array deployed and now is when it will be even brighter! It wont be this bright again until after the P6 Redeploy on STS-120.

The image that you posted shows the complex in the ZOE, right where as I am tracking in STSPLUS, they are out of the ZOE now, but not in direct line of sight yet for TDRS-West for highspeed KU. You are right, as I said around sunrise, KU coverage should improve.

I have 2 tonight.
ISS Tue Jun 12/09:44 PM 2 23 23 above N 11 above NE
ISS Tue Jun 12/11:19 PM 2 34 30 above NNW 21 above ENE
I will definitely go have a look.
