So no more media briefings?
Correct. Hopefully the next briefing will be the post launch press conference.

Looking good from where am I. Providing nothing comes up on L2, we'll have a good chance to launch Friday.

So has a final decision MSBLS#3 been reached? No swap-out?

Looks like they've picked it up on the Public Channel, too (at least temporarily)...

Looks beautiful! I don't think MSBLS 3 will be an issue in terms of a launch tomorrow, whether there is a swap or not. Hope to hear something about it soon!

A swap would delay the launch to Saturday. The reason for cancelling that was because of the PRSD load activties fell behind schedule.
And PRSD loading activities requires that the pad is cleared of all personnel.

I stand corrected, thanks Dave for that info. Still learning how things work over there.

Yes, if they decided to swap, they'd delay to Saturday.
Latest we have is they are pushing for Friday with as-is rationale, although OPO would technically need to defer to MMT (I'd assume). Self tests were up to 20 on the number three under evaluation and no problems, so rationale appears strong.
Everyone is pointing to Friday launch. ET folks supporting launch have already gone home earlier today as key staff get ready for a long, long day tomorrow.

Great to hear, Chris, and thanks for the reinforcement of the delay info.

I got that one wrong.
Can someone quickly explain or point me in the right direction why the pad would have to be cleared if a swap was to be performed? Why would anything need to be pressurized? I'm not clear on this one.

Sorry, was posting before you posted

The clearance of other workers from the pad was in reference to PRSD loading activities. I.e they can't go swaping stuff out during those activities, i.e they lost their chance to swap it last night as PRSD got in the way.

Wasn't sure if that pad shot was live or taped from this morning, but it does seem live - getting darker. Great to see the bird on the pad!
Before this thread is closed down, I just wanted to say thanks to Chris and all the sources that have kept things up to date thru the repair time. Fantastic coverage as always!!

About the NASA TV Live View; are they going to turn on the xenon lights at the launch pad?

Thanks Chris. Who has the final word about whether or not to swap? It *seems* from what I've read that #3 being out still meets launch criteria, but I get the impression that they're hesitating over there about what route to go for some reason.

Eventually, yes. Severe trivia, but my recollection is they often wait until after RSS rollback to do that. RSS rollback was on the schedule for a couple of hours from now, but it can be delayed and often is...so it could be a while for that and the floodlights...

Final word is the Mission Management Team(MMT) which during prelaunch is chaired by Leroy Cain, Launch Integration Manager for the Space Shuttle Program at KSC. Leroy Cain is a former Space Shuttle Flight Director.

I have never seen RSS Retract live before so that is exciting for me. If they had the lights on by then it would be cool; maybe they will.
