BILL McARTHUR ANSWERS QUESTIONS FROM ITALIAN SCHOOL
Today, Wednesday 9 November 2005, at 11:28 local time, US astronaut Bill McArthur onboard the International Space Station talked live with Italian students over amateur radio.
The radio contact with the ISS was provided by amateur radio station WH6PN located in Honolulu and operated by Nancy Rocheleau. From Honolulu the audio was relayed to Casale Monferrato, courtesy of MCI, the world telephone company.
The students of Istituto Comprensivo F. Negri had a wonderful “Spacetalk”. Bill McArthur, KC5ACR answered 21 questions during the 10 minutes long radio contact.
Will Marchant, KC6ROL moderated the contact which had been prepared by ARISS mentor Peter Kofler, IN3JHZ.
Claudio Ariotti, IK1SLD operated the telebridge equipment in the school.
