Is rain an issue on the vehicle surface with LOX loaded?

Ice is not an issue for ELV's, only the shuttle.

Too many people have grown up on the shuttle and don't watch ELV's

T-16 minute count pickup at 00:54 for a new liftoff time of 01:10.  "please confirm that you can support".
I love this webcast audio... :)

Why recycle 50% of the fuel?

Sorry if this was covered before (just got here a bit ago), but does anyone know if SpaceX is still using a "pull-away" LOX tank blanket?

It looks like a black covering on the LOX tank today, but is it mounted or a pull-away item?

Thanks!

What about ice shedding onto SRB's on an ELV?

Nope, it's now bonded insulation.

the wonders of a automated scripted countdown; recycle to a 'checkpoint' (like manually drain the fuel - set a few switches and relays to known positions), and hit GO.  I'm purly guessing - but I bet ya.....  This takes pure guts to try again - re-igniting an engine pressure fed or not is chancy....

Not sure. The only Delta II ever to suffer an outright failure did so because of a crack in one of its SRBs, I don't know the cause, but it was in January, so it could have been ice.

Luckily, the Falcon doesn't have SRBs.

So are they going to adjust anything, or are they just going to try again and hope it's on the happy side of the .1psi red line kinda like I reboot my computer and try it again?

Could it be possible that they are fixing the fuel temp by reloading it?

 That's the plan.

Yes. What hey're doing is try to heat the RP-1 so that the tank pressure goes up a bit more.

Q: what would you like fuel temp to be.
"We like it to be between 78 -80 deg F, it was 76." [they don't abort on fuel temperature, just chamber temp.]

Since Elon Musk is involved, I think it's a good bet that they're using the latest ground control software.

I agree that it is ballsy though, considering it's still classed as a first launch, you'd think they'd want a day to look the engine/structure over after that event.

Perhaps they classify it as the same as their 'static fire'; I wasn't here yet for it, how long was the burn?

Does anyone have any insight as to how SpaceX plans to fix the low chamber pressure issue? I am certain that their plan is not to simply try again, this time with their fingers crossed.

I get the impression they are simply going to try and again and hope it was a one off.

Chamber temp or pressure?

One would think that some controls programming that adjusts the accetable chamber pressure to the fuel temp might help?    Just a thought, I have guys reprogram control loops all the time, just not on rockets.
