Progress Cargo Craft Docks to Station Resupplying Crew

Mark A. Garcia
March 1, 2025

The unpiloted Progress 91 spacecraft arrived at the aft port of the orbiting laboratory’s Zvezda Service module at 6:02 p.m. EST, March 1. The spacecraft launched at 4:24 p.m. EST (2:24 a.m. Baikonur time) Feb. 27, on a Soyuz rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

The Roscosmos spacecraft is delivering about three tons of food, fuel, and supplies for the Expedition 72 crew aboard the International Space Station and will remain docked for approximately six months before departing for a re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere to dispose of trash loaded by the crew.

An ISS orbit correction was performed today, and before I tell you the usual numbers, I want to share this video by Ivan Vagner. He showed how a Progress' engine boost feels like inside the station using a plastic bag and candies.

And here is a usual message: a planned ISS orbit correction was performed today at 09:52 UTC in preparation for the #SoyuzMS27 arrival. #ProgressMS30 engines fired for 1035.5 sec with an impulse of 2.06 m/s, increasing the station's orbit altitude for 3.6 km.

Progress MS-30 performs third ISS orbit correction

On April 24, 2025, the Progress MS-30 cargo ship performed its third planned ISS orbit correction, according to Roskosmos.

The maneuver started at 03:08 Moscow Time (8:08 p.m. EDT on April 23) and lasted for 639.7 seconds. The engine firing added 1.22 meters per second to the station's velocity and raised its average altitude by 2.1 kilometers, reaching nearly 419 kilometers, Roskosmos said.

The Russian cargo spacecraft #ProgressMS30 has wrapped up its mission at @Space_Station, undocking from the Zvezda module at 15:45 UTC. A planned deorbit burn at 18:59 UTC will send it into Earth’s atmosphere, where it will mostly disintegrate. Any surviving fragments are expected to land in a remote, non-navigable area of the South Pacific Ocean.
