Launch 13 May 2024, at 00:53:00 UTC (12 May 8:53 pm EDT), from CCSFS SLC-40, on booster 1073-15.  The first stage successfully landed aboard A Shortfall of Gravitas.

Payload 23 Starlink V2 Mini satellites to 43 degree inclination orbit on a southeastern trajectory.  Initial orbit 284 x 292 km.

Which first stage will be used for this launch? (semi-rhetorical question)

Falcon 9 first stages are now apparently cleared for use up to twenty times for non-crewed launches, although that number is apparently more restricted for Cargo Dragon or Cygnus than these other payloads.

1064.6 and 1065.6 are the Falcon Heavy side boosters for Europa Clipper.  1072.1 and 1086.1 are assigned as the Falcon Heavy side boosters for GOES-U.

1073.15 and 1076.14 may undergo modifications to become Falcon Heavy side boosters for a future launch, but both are currently available for "single-stick" launches.

1)  Cape sunset events and jellyfish alert.  The 8:53 PM EDT launch time may produce jellyfish as the booster heads southeast towards darker skies.  Later launch times would improve darkness along the Florida coast. At some unknown launch time the second stage will be firing while in Earth shadow so jellyfish effect may be absent or minimal from light from the second stage engine.

SpaceX is targeting Sunday, May 12 for a Falcon 9 launch of 23 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Liftoff is targeted for 8:11 p.m. ET, with backup opportunities available until 12:11 a.m. ET on Monday, May 13. If needed, additional opportunities are also available on Monday, May 13 starting at 7:45 p.m. ET.

A live webcast of this mission will begin on X @SpaceX about five minutes prior to liftoff. Watch live.

This is the 15th flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched SES-22, ispace's HAKUTO-R MISSION 1, Amazonas-6, CRS-27, Bandwagon-1, and nine Starlink missions. Following stage separation, the first stage will land on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

Bob departed Port Canaveral on Thursday evening towing Just Read the Instructions droneship. Bob is reporting its destination as Freeport, The Bahamas.

Curious to see what this trip is for - JRTI just had a major month-long overhaul back in January.

Nothing major, but JRTI needs a quick dry dock stop for some additional preventative maintenance. It’s important the vessels are ready to sustain a fast recovery cadence as launch rate increases.
