NSF Threads for Starlink 6-40: DiscussionLaunch 29 February 2024, at 15:30:00 UTC (10:30 am EST), from CCSFS SLC-40, on booster 1076-11. The first stage successfully landed on Just Read The Instructions.Payload 23 Starlink V2 Mini satellites to 43 degree inclination orbit on a southeastern trajectory. Initial orbit 284 x 293 km.

The Florida
Starlink mission expected to follow
Starlink 6-39 could launch NET mid February. Assuming that SpaceX continues, again, to launch its Florida
Starlink Group 6's in ascending numerical order, this launch will be
6-40. It is currently listed on NextSF with launch NET February, from either Kennedy LC-39A or Canaveral SLC-40, with recovery either aboard an ASDS or RLTS to LZ-1.
LC-39A is not available, due to the successive launch campaigns of
IM-1 and
Crew-8, so this launch will be from SLC-40. Also, there is not (yet) a request to or approval from the FCC for RTLS landing. Finally, we do not yet know if
JRTI will be available for ASDS recovery. (same for
Starlink 6-41 and
6-42)

The next SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch NASA's Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem (PACE) satellite from pad 40 on February 6 at 1:33 a.m. EST. The first stage will land back at the Cape about eight minutes after launch. A Falcon 9 will launch the Intuitive Machines & NASA IM-1 Nova-C commercial lunar lander from pad 39A on February 14 at 1 a.m. EST. The first stage will land back at the Cape about eight minutes after launch. Upcoming launches include more Starlink batches from pad 40. A Falcon 9 will launch the Telkomsat communications satellite for Indonesia from pad 40 on mid-late February TBD. A Falcon 9 will launch the next crew of four astronauts to the International Space Station, Crew-8, from pad 39A on February 22 at the earliest, around 3 a.m. EST, or around February 29-March 1 at midnight (the latter date if IM-1 proceeds as planned). Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein requests 30 days of Special Temporary Authority (“STA”),1 commencing February 20, 2024, to use its Hagerstown, Maryland C-band earth station to provide launch and early orbit phase (“LEOP”) services for the HTS-113BT satellite.2 HTS-113BT is expected to launch no earlier than February 20, 2024.3 Intelsat expects the LEOP period to last approximately 14 days.

Do we expect any testing or sea trial for JRTI? If not, could JRTI do 6-40 on ~12th and Telkomsat HTS 113BT on 20th in order to allow ASOG to do 6-39 on 10th and 6-41 on ~18.
Perhaps 2 day turnarounds for pad is probably too optimistic yet even if Elon thought they could get it down to 24 hours this year?

SLC-40 launches:
PACE launched February 8 UTC, successful LZ-1 landing.
USSF-124/HBTSS is now scheduled for launch on February 14 UTC, with LZ-1 landing.
HTS-113BT is scheduled to launch February 20 UTC. ASDS landing? Both JRTI and ASOG are available.
Starlink 6-39 is scheduled to launch NET February 23 UTC (3 day pad turnaround?). ASDS landing.
This would place the Starlink 6-40 launch NET February 27 or 28 (dependent on pad and ASDS turnarounds). ASDS landing.

If Telkomsat HTS 113BT is on 20th and used droneship and 6-39 does too.
Then 8 day turnaround for ASDS doing Telkomsat means NET 28th. Crew launch planned for March 1st so cannot launch on 29th Feb. Everything has to go right to fit this in on Feb 28 else slips to March.
Perhaps a good opportunity to fit in a RTLS 27th ish?

HTS-113BT is scheduled to launch February 20 UTC, with landing aboard JRTI.
Starlink 6-39 is scheduled to launch February 24 UTC, with landing presumably aboard ASOG.
This would place the Starlink 6-40 launch NET February 28, with landing presumably aboard JRTI.
