Launch Date: June 2025Launch Location: Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
Perseverance, the tenth Celestis Earth Rise service will fly from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California aboard a Falcon 9 launch vehicle. The personalized individual flight capsules -- containing a symbolic portion of cremated remains or DNA sample -- will experience the elegant dance of weightlessness as it orbits the Earth aboard The Exploration Company’s Nyx orbital recovery vehicle and are returned to Earth for recovery. Celestis will then return each participant's flown flight capsule to the family as a keepsake. This will be Celestis' 25th overall memorial spaceflight since its founding in 1994.
We have started the environmental tests of our Mission Possible capsule. Here are some pictures of the arrival at Airbus Defence and Space and the installation of Mission Possible in the thermal chamber.
Lunasonde’s 6U satellite, San Xavier, is our next-stage satellite. San Xavier will fly on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 Transporter-14 in summer 2025 via launch provider Exolaunch, deploying into sun-synchronous orbit. San Xavier will use our proprietary low frequency (LF) and high frequency (HF) radar technological stack capable of detecting subsurface mineral deposits.
