KSC Photo Layout & WAV File
« on: 10/09/2005 11:04 PM »
I didn't know where else to place these. One is a great photo of KSC showing the entire complex from orbit(?) or at least high altitude. The other is a WAV file of NASA Public Affairs Officer Jack King, the "Voice of Apollo," announcing the launch of Apollo 11. It still gives me goosebumps. I miss him and Shorty Powers. (Again, I apologize for my recent mini-diatribe against current NASA announcers, but King and Powers were . . . well . . . kingly and powerful.) It's even kind of endearing in a way that so much adrenaline was flowing at the time that King flubbed a bit of the announcement.

Sorry, I flubbed these; the files are too large for downloading. (Look at me, I'm a rocket scientist!)
Go to:
http://24.73.239.154:8081/moonshot/2004/KSC_map.jpg
for map of KSC. It's near top of page.
Go to:
http://24.73.239.154:8081/moonshot/king.htm
for WAV file of King, three-quarters down the page.
Sorry.

Moved to General...the FTP area is what we've got on the server (or have permission for, etc.) These are from insideksc.com and their property (so fine as links - as posted, but not relevant to the FTP section).
