Interesting pictures of Tanegashima at http://blog.livedoor.jp/h2a_f8/ All, looks okay for the next launch try. Weather looks good, the only problem being strong winds.

We can now see the Yoshinubo LP1 launch pad at Tanegashima. Ar this time the sky is hazy and slightly cloudy. The winds are weak.

This launch, like the previous H-2A launches, is going to take place from the LP1 launch pad. The LP2 launch pad is going to be used by the H-2B launch vehicle.

Waiting for this launch and listening to Naglfar to keep awake (!), here is some basic info about the H-2A/2024:

This is a three stage rocket capable of delivering a 10000 kg cargo to a low Earth orbit (250 km), a 3800 kg cargo to a geosynchronous transfer orbit (36000 km), a 4000 kg cargo to a Sun sinchronous orbit (800 km) or a 2500 kg cargo to a escape trajectory (info from http://www.jaxa.jp/projects/rockets/h2a/design_e.html ). Until now there were 11 H-2A launches with only 1 failure. The rocket has a length of 53 meters and a liftoff mass of 285000 kg (without payload mass)

T-2h for launch!

The skies are clearing at Tanegashima and the winds are calm (strong winds were a concern for this launch attempt).

Aboard the H-2A (F12) are two sats: a radar sat (Radar-2) and a experimental optics sat (Optics-3).
