What is the sunset time tonight for KSC, around 5 PM EST? I guess if Discovery lands on this last attempt to KSC, it will be considered a night landing or close to it. We will know in 20 minutes what MCC decides on the deorbit burn go/no go for an EDW or KSC landing opp. this rev.

Hindsight being what it is, it looks like they could've landed at KSC the 1st rev. The criteria were all green at landing time, unless I missed something, which for me today is apparently very possible. If the weather holds like this, I'd put my money on KSC rev. 2. But... if Edwards is a solid go, would they pass it up unless KSC was just as solid? Exciting stuff indeed!

Problem with "a ball" at White Sands. 30 minutes to fix.

I believe you are referring to the Ball Bar.  This is used to visually align the orbiter with the shallow 1.5 degree glideslope during the final flare.  It is a single white light (the ball) in front of a series of red lights (i.e. the bar).

Glad you said that Mark, as I didn't have a clue what that was, past references from Top Gun ;)

Especially the last big truck, it looks like something from the Thuderbirds. :)
