The crew get too much credit for carrying out the flyarouds and RPMs. The orbiter carries it out. The crew simply flick a few switches.

If I heard the CDR call to MCC-H correctly, the KU dish on Discovery will be in radar mode until the orbiter reaches the 10 minute mark before it reaches the -V bar (a line directly behind the station's current forward direction. We will not get any live TV from Discovery if the KU is in radar mode.
