Looks like we missed the crew wake-up.  Anybody catch what they played?

(Because, you know, that IS the most important part of each flight day  ;)  )

Short late inspection and landing on Thursday is still being considered. It goes to the 1pm Central MMT.

5:09 ET is the undocking.  I have the shuttle and station passing over North America at around 5:52 Eastern, so we might be able to see the two spacecraft separating over most of the US East of the Mississippi (From Knoxville, TN where I'm at, pass starts at 5:56 and goes to 6:05).

Can someone confirm this?

They'll only be 600 feet apart, so it will be iffy.  They do their separation burn at 6:06EST, which is four minutes after they pass into shadow from the vantage point of here in Atlanta.

Thanks Rob.  Hopefully some of the folks in Houston can snap some photos of Discovery for us as she flies over (if indeed she comes down on Orbit 203).  Looks like they'll be too far to the South for me to see anything.

They'll overfly my city at 7:31 EST, 6:31 my time, which is above 90 minutes after they've separated.  It's completely overcast here right now but if it clears up I'll run out and try to snap some photos for you guys.  I'm not gonna get my hopes up but I'll put it out there for you.  Jeff showing some amazing pictures on NTV right now.

"They'll only be 600 feet apart, so it will be iffy. "

I observed STS-7 and SPAS-01 at a range of 1000 ft,
and the chief visibility problem was grossly different
brightness levels. Of course, I was also using a pair
of binoculars -- but the angular separation was about
a tenth the Moon's angular size, quite resolvable with
objects of comparable brightness.
