P4? P4 isn't even visible that shot. Don't you mean P6/Z1?

I think we are on ISS KU right now so we should have 45 minutes of good KU on TDRS West and 38 minutes of daylight in this pass.

Edit: so is Christer...

Edit2: correction, Christer's still out on S1...BillyO thinks they should wrap up now...

You're right Dave, sorry, I meant P6 only, I don't know why I said P4 since it was installed in September.

Eva coming to a end soon with my last update, 30 minutes left of daylight in this pass and 35 minutes left of KU on TDRS West through ISS KU. Thanks for the great coverage everyone, good night!

I curious with as much difficulty with getting this array in and latched completely, what type of contingency plans are in place to re-extend it next year?  If I understand the sizes and locations, there's no way to get a space-walker all to cover the entire array area to clear snags.  I would expect based on the reported condition of the guy wires that we are looking at hangups when this is re-deployed.

I concur with the earlier comment - the other side will have to be retracted during a dedicated space walk - I would expect a much more involved plan with the space walkers taking immediate action to clear snags to get it completely retracted during 1 EVA - I bet they plan for 2 though.

When Atlantis goes back with the system to take power from the station (don't recall the name of that system) that should allow for a planned 4 or 5 EVA mission I would think.

BTW great coverage - really enjoying the show and commentary.  Congrats to NASA on a job well done.

thoughts/comments?

Deploying it again should be less problematic, as the blanket can transmit the tension loads of deployment much more effectively than it can transmit the compression loads of retraction.  You'll notice that they never had to stop a redeploy because things were not moving correctly, only retraction.

Plus, I'm sure that in the intervening year they'll work up at least a few contingencies in case they get stuck. After all, they're still breaking new ground - keeping the P6 arrays reatracted for an extended period of time in hard vacuum. Sticktion won't be a problem this time without oxygen, but other unforeseen factors may crop up.
