Evaluating potential investment in SpaceX.
« on: 08/30/2022 07:58 pm »
I currently have an offer on the table to invest in SpaceX, which I've been searching for quite a while. I've been a long time lurker on this board and would respect your opinion.

The valuation is higher than the last public round which I've come to realize is fairly standard for pre-IPO offerings on the secondary market. Not sure I'm allowed to give specifics but I can say it's between 168-172 billion valuation at 92-97/per share.

This would obviously not be for everyone but what annualized return would you expect with these costs.

What do you think?

The usual financial numerology isn't worth much in this case. Elon could get hit by a truck tomorrow with a series of bad decisions turning the company into a memory. Or, everything they're working on could go well and the company could be worth more than the next four companies combined in 20 years.  Any investment will be a measure of faith in the company, the man and his vision. The numbers you can dig up today are more a measure of people's hopes than present cash flow.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.
