I keep reading that ovchinin’s flight will have a spaceflight participant is that true.

and I keep reading that the Soyuz flight after ovchinin is three cosmonauts for the next 4 flights idk what’s going on with the Soyuz if it’s gonna be 3 cosmonauts, or 2 cosmonauts one American. Idk if someone could explain that to me I’d appreciate it, and who are the two commanders of expedition 70.

Yes, I'm mystified, too. If the seat-swap is remaining active until at least early 2024, I'd be surprised not to see a U.S. crew member (Caldwell-Dyson?) on the Fall 2023 Soyuz.

Maybe a short-duration Belarus cosmonaut on the Fall 2023 Soyuz could indicate that Chub and O'Hara will do a one-year stay?

MS-23:

My MS-23 and MS-24 predictions presume that Konstantin Borisov flies on Crew-7 as planned. If Crew-7 is all USOS, Nik Chub would stay for a year instead of Loral O'Hara. I don't know where Tracy Caldwell-Dyson would end up. After MS-25, Soyuz crews would alternate between two Russians and one American and three Russians (in that order) until Roscosmos is comfortable putting cosmonauts on Starliner, at which point all Soyuz crews would be two Russian and one American.

Possibly, but I don't think so, as that would leave ISS with 5 USOS and 2 RSA either way under the current flight order. The only way I could see her on MS-25 is if Starliner-1 is delayed behind Crew-8, and I very easily could then.

GT: CPC continues training on "winter survival".

On February 13, another conditional crew put into practice survival skills in a wooded and swampy area. It included cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov, Sergei Mikaev, Alexander Grebenkin and NASA astronaut Donald Pettit.

Mission Specialist Assigned to NASA’s SpaceX Crew-7 Mission

Astronaut Satoshi Furukawa from JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) has been selected as a mission specialist for NASA’s SpaceX Crew-7 mission – the agency’s seventh rotational mission to the International Space Station.

Furukawa joins NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Andreas Mogensen, who will serve as spacecraft commander and pilot, respectively. An additional crew member will be assigned at a later date.

Furukawa spent 165 days aboard the orbiting laboratory in 2011 as a flight engineer with Expeditions 28 and 29. As part of his duties, he helped support the final space shuttle mission, STS-135.

This will be the first spaceflight for Moghbeli, who became a NASA astronaut in 2017, and the first long-duration mission for Mogensen. He previously served as a flight engineer on a 10-day mission to the space station in 2015. Crew-7 will be his second trip to space.

NASA and SpaceX are targeting no earlier than mid-August for the launch of Crew-7, aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft and Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The four astronauts will join an expedition crew aboard the space station.
