It doesn't look like the second stage engine ever lit.

First stage flight appeared nominal. LD reporting anomaly with stage two. Still a fairly successful first launch attempt to make it through staging and apparently S2 ignition.

Also passed the Kármán line (100 km).

T+6 minutes. Will analyse data to determine problem.

First stage flight showed that 3D rockets are possible.

Didn't look like the 2nd stage engine started

It looked like it did to me.
Or at least, something ignited.

Any guesses/knowledge as to what happens to the bum stage? Follows first stage into the drink? FTS activation?

Looked like prestart into the start box and then near immediate engine abort command during startup checkout window.

I think it tried (several times) to ignite but it didn't look like there was anything that was stable.

While I'm impressed with how far Terran 1 went, I'm unfortunately constituting this as a failure since it didn't achieve orbital velocity.

Looks like the second stage engine lunched itself. The time between the sparks and fire no flame can be seen. The first image looks like normal operation. The biggest event was at T+3:18 which lasts for only four or five frames, about 80 ms.

I'd say achieving 2nd stage ignition is very good result, considering history was never on their side.

The webcast host losing it at MaxQ and screaming into the mic was beautiful and brought a tear to my eye! Love the passion and excitement of their team!

Hell yeah.
Given how much this is not yet another rocket, I'd have signed up for this outcome in a heartbeat.

Can't wait for Terran R.

Quote
Today’s launch proved Relativity’s 3D-printed rocket technologies that will enable our next vehicle, Terran R. We successfully made it through Max-Q, the highest stress state on our printed structures. This is the biggest proof point for our novel additive manufacturing approach. Today is a huge win, with many historic firsts. We also progressed through Main Engine Cutoff and Stage Separation. We will assess flight data and provide public updates over the coming days. #GoodLuckHadFun
