Cross-posting on T-1 day:

Interesting. One confirmed payload of #Landspace's ZQ-2 Y1 launch in a couple of days will be the Smart Satellite-1B (智星一号B星). This was shown on an infographic at CCAF2022 this week. Beijing Smart Satellite plans to establish a constellation of 12 commercial SAR satellites.

The tweet with the picture was deleted, not sure what that means. Not sure what's their source too, but who knows... Maybe it's in the air.

A few rumors that a lower than planned orbit was achieved. Still waiting any official news about the launch.

Offline eeergo

Video appears to show nominal flight up until at least around T+5min (assuming a liftoff time of 16:30:25), with good data links, fairing separated and firing second stage.

Looks like Zhuque-2 second stage failed to reach orbital velocity. Satellites lost. Similar to Zhuque-1 launch four years ago.

Sad news: Blue Arrow Aerospace, a private enterprise in my country, organized the first flight mission of the Suzaku-2 carrier rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The rocket flight was abnormal and the launch mission failed.

Launch of Zhuque 2 - world’s first orbital launch attempt of LOX/LCH4 rocket from LandSpace(蓝箭航天). Anomaly likely occurred in 2nd/upper stage, but there could be slight chance that it entered lower-than-intended orbit. Waiting for official announcement.buff.ly/3Bz0uFZ

Looks like it was as the earlier rumor reported - the flight was nominal till 2nd stage main engine shutdown (T+ ~5 minutes) at just over 5 km/s, but the verniers shut down as well when they should continue to burn for at least 7 more minutes. That would be at least 2 km/s short of orbit.

The graphs on the upper right are, from upper left clockwise: 2nd stage main engine thrust chamber LOX inlet pressure, 2nd stage main engine turbine speed, 2nd stage vernier engine turbine speed.

Seems like a TQ-11 vernier failure (that are supposed to provide the last 2 km/s) after SECO, so well short of orbit - close but no cigar. Impact off Burma's coast into the Indian Ocean from the graphs.

First successful FIRST STAGE methalox orbital-class launcher, but not yet orbital-proven.

Notably those vernier engines are supposed to go away:
