ISS Expedition 66 crew, during the January 19, 2022 EVA (spacewalk) Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov probably wore a PANERAI Radiomir wristwatch strapped pver the lefthand Orlan spacesuit glove...

Just replying to self as I wanted to add a print-screen of the ISS-65 EVA - spacewalk.
In this screenshot we see the large size chronograph on Oleg Novitsky's lefthand wrist while on the righthand wrist he was wearing the NASA-issued manual winding Omega Speedmaster chronograph...

The tiny box reminds us of the little box ( with an image of Snoopy dressed as a pilot wearing a cape) strapped to the wrist velcro of the Omega Speedmaster of the Skylab astronauts.
It was a passive radiation dosimeter used during the 28 days long SL2 mission aboard Skylab space station...

For those interested, it looks like the Russian EVA on April 18, 2022 brought a new record
Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev achieved a record of wearing 3 wrist watches strapped over his red-striped Orlan MKS N° 5 space suit.
Live spacewalk footage showed what looks like a blue hands PANERAI Submersible on his righthand wrist and two blue dial wrist watches at his left forearm.
Fellow spacewalker cosmonaut Denis Matveyev also wore a personal watch strapped over his blue-striped Orlan MKS N° 4 space suit.
So remarkably these cosmonauts didn't choose for the regular Swiss-made Omega Speedmaster chronograph ?

Some more background about the time pieces used by spacefarers:
The first photo shows that at least since August 2021, there were no Omega Speedmaster chronographs continuously strapped over the Orlan MKS spacesuits. (although Oleg Novitsky used one during both September 2021 EVAs).
.
The 2014 photo shows how Orlan MK spacesuits used to be stored with an Omega Speedmaster continuously strapped on the right forearm. Between 2001-2019 these were stored in the Pirs airlock, nowadays in the Poisk airlock.
.
And the other spacesuits ( SpaceX and Russian Sokol worn during launch & re-entry or during emergencies)
The IVA Sokol spacesuits are usually stored in the same way, with watches attached, but we know that the MS-21 crew didn't wear any Speedmaster chronographs on launchday 18 March 2022...

Today, during a short May 9th celebration, we got a better view of the "Gold-orange" foil bracelet with large black chronograph, which was probably used during the 18th & 28th April spacewalks by Oleg Artemyev.

Has any quartz watch ever been flown on an EVA?
Afaik most watches worn by Nasa astronauts are basic Casio g shock models, but those aren't worn on EVAs. In theory a quartz should be perfectly possible to make work in vacuum if given a safe power supply. -

No quartz watches on an EVA AFAIK, but during the 250th ISS EVA 4 watches were worn, most unidentified so far.
The EVA norm for watches has been mechanical chronographs or pilot watches

I suppose the Seiko spring drive could counts as (mechanically powered) quartz. It's still mostly mechanical but the escape wheel is replaced with a quartz oscillator that looks more like old school tuning fork watches. I wasn't aware that Seikos spring drive movements had been used on an EVA, that is really cool.

First quartz wrist watch in space worn by ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti
The July 21, 2022 Russian & European EVA was the 251st EVA - Extra Vehicular Activity aka spacewalk outside the ISS - International Space Station.
Thursday, July 21, Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev wore a record of 4 different wristwatches strapped over his red-striped Orlan MKS N° 5 spacesuit. Two closely together on the lefthand forearm and one on his right forearm, with one partially tucked away under the righthand glove.
Colleague spacewalker, Italian ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti in the blue-striped Orlan MKS n° 4 spacesuit, wore an Omega Speedmaster on the lefthand and a quartz-movement Orient wrist watch on het righthand forearm.

Again both cosmonauts wore more than two wristwatches of which each had goldish kapton foil wrapped straps.
Besides a few unidentified wrist watches, MoonwatchUniverse noticed an Omega Speedmaster X-33 analog-digital chronograph on Artemyev's right forearm.
Thus far, besides the unidentified chronographs, 8 different brands have been exposed directly to outer space during EVAs:

Both cosmonauts, Oleg Artemyev (Red Orlan-MKS) and Denis Matveev (Blue Orlan-MKS) wore an Omega Speedmaster X-33 analog-digital chronograph on their right forearm.
Besides a few mission patches, cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev's rectangular toolbox had a personal photograph (female posing with Soyuz launch poster in the background) and an extra black wrist watch attached to it !
Photo 1: Lower left attached on the stang (note 3 watches on right arm, and at least 1 left forearm)
Photo 2: Lower right in the photo as Artemyev was already in Poisk airlock.

Meanwhile we've seen some great photographs of the July 21, 2022 ISS EVA 53, during which Italian ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti became the first European female to make a spacewalk.
It looks like she wore a space agency-issued manual winding Omega Speedmaster chronograph on her left forearm and an "Orient" chronograph on the right forearm of her blue-striped Orlan MKS space suit.
.
Although her toolbox had some personal items, no watches (as seen during Aug 17, 2022 EVA by Artemeyev), I have included a photo of her ESA EVA-toolbox for future reference #MoonwatchUniverse

Any ideas why all watches straps were wrapped in Goldish Kapton foil near the actual wrist watches' lugs ?
Visibility (Both during an after the EVA to spot the watches worn?
Extra strength strap?
Other?

Meanwhile we had some replies, indicating there're several reasons:
1. Extra attachment (added strength as the watch straps are not EVA-rated)
2. Thermal insulation against 200°C differences in shadow & full Sunlight
3. Static insulation against electrical fields associated with moving fast through low density atomic Oxygen.
4. Easier to spot both during and after the EVA as some of these were personal pieces. Most likely post-mission souvenirs to family

Meanwhile Anton Shkaplerov revealed he took an extra CosmoNavigator wristwatch during Soyuz MS-19.
This interesting wristwatch, designed with help of cosmonaut Vladimir Dzhanibekov (after his 1985 Soyuz T-13 inert Salyut-7 space station ordeal) gives a spacefarer in LEO - Low Earth Orbit an idea of the Earth area he/she is flying over!

Very specific information is hard-to-find but sometimes perseverance often pays off.
Here's an amazing close-up photo taken by spacewalking cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev during the July 21, 2022 ISS EVA-53, wearing the red-striped Orlan MKS-5 space suit.
The inner wrist watch looks like an Omega Speedmaster chronograph, but note the light blue dial watch which seems to have a Russian Air Force wing logo at 12 o'clock position?

Have you ever noticed that in many famous Hollywood movies about space, the astronaut heroes wear the same brand of watch, the Hamilton? Matthew McConaughey used it in Interstellar as he returned home, where everyone had already grown old. The same watch was also used by Matt Damon in The Martian. But in reality, this American brand has never been "cosmic". It is only on the screen. Since 1994, the official watch of the Cosmonaut Training Center and Roscosmos has been Fortis. And Elon Musk chose Swiss TAG Heuer for his SpaceX. Years ago, I even pawned my Rolex at www.newbondstreetpawnbrokers.com to buy a Fortis watch. My grandfather was an astronaut.

Just as online reference, since March 2022 (Soyuz MS-21) and now on Soyuz MS-24, the cosmonauts wear large shiny chronographs strapped over the Sokol suit. Perhaps Russian-made Konstantin Chaykin or another Russian brand

2024, March 29... ISS Expedition 70
ISS Exp 70 NASA astronaut Loral O'Hara wearing a Sokol space suit with the now well-spotted shiny large "Energia" logo chronograph over the left forearm near the white pressure control valve. These striking & large "Energia" logo dial chronographs were first spotted during the Soyuz MS-21 launch ceremony in March 2021.
The first idea to identify these tended to the "Strela" chronographs which have a similar lay-out but lack a full numerals dial. These large "Energia" chronographs were also used during the August 17, 2022 spacewalk on the Orlan space suit of cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev.
