ISS and Jupiter

Captured this image of the ISS passing above Jupiter tonight from Edinburgh using a handheld Canon 600D with a 250mm lens.

I'm surprised that the solar panels look semi-transparent. How do you explain that? I've only ever seen them look totally solid in pictures.

It's just seems to be so. The video is made of about 350 neighbour shots, and the gain was auto-scaled up to 400+, that's why the image is rather noisy and it may seem that the solar are semi-transparent.
