November 2021 SpaceX VP Level Departures

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/11/22/elon-musks-spacex-leadership-shakes-up-as-two-vps-depart.html

"SpaceX vice president of propulsion Will Heltsley has left, multiple people familiar with the situation told CNBC, having been with the company since 2009. Those people said Heltsley was taken off Raptor engine development due to a lack of progress...SpaceX’s Jacob McKenzie, who has been with the company for more than six years, is now leading Raptor engine development and production

Lee Rosen, SpaceX vice president of mission and launch operations, left last week, people said, as well as Ricky Lim, senior director of mission and launch operations. Rosen had been with SpaceX since 2013, while Lim joined the company in 2008."

Like with Starlink, Musk must not be happy with Raptor progress. Musk's recent tweet about needing a clean sheet new design to reach goals can't have been easy to swallow.  Costly in money and worse yet time. Wishing Jacob McKenzie well in his new responsibilities.

I am guessing he is referring to firings that took place back in October of 2018, not reflective of Musk's current thinking on Starlink.  The action re: Starlink back in 2018 was due to slow progress with the satellites, as well as pending deadlines for deployment with the FCC. ( iirc )

Well I thought your point was wrong, but it looks like Elon is shaking things up, so maybe not:
Sounds as if Elon is not pleased with the Raptor’s progress, as VP of propulsion Will Heltsley has been replaced: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/11/22/elon-musks-spacex-leadership-shakes-up-as-two-vps-depart.html

You missed that the quote you cross-posted is 4 posts prior in the OP.   ;)

Yes. I was referring to firing of the initial Starlink upper management team for lack of progress and long schedule forecasts.
In any case serious respect to the departing VPs. They contributed for years to the amazing rapid success of SpaceX.
