It would be an honor to have you visit Starbase
Starbase is extremely impressive. There is a lot of bemoaning that we culturally can't build physical things anymore, but this is China Speed and then some. Rows of engines, hangars full of structures, 24/7 shifts -- it is a sight to behold.
Flying in the skies above #BocaChica this morning with @AstroJaws, dreaming of a future when ships full of humans may leave from this beach for #Mars. (Look closely and you can see a Starship)
While in California this week, Chair Homendy and NTSB staff joined @USCG Rear Admiral Mauger at SpaceX to learn more about their operations.
Good to talk with #SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell & Elon Musk on 🇪🇺/🇺🇸 common space challenges — including orbit congestion & space-based #connectivity 🛰I commend Starlink’s important contribution to connectivity #resilience in Ukraine 🇺🇦#SpaceTrafficManagement
Indonesian President Widodo also had the opportunity to also travel to Brownsville, Boca Chica Beach, Texas, to meet SpaceX founder Elon Musk at the Starbase facility where the aerospace company is developing Starship. According to representatives of the Indonesia government, Widodo and Musk discussed potential investments in the nickel industry for Tesla, which produces batteries for electric vehicles and solar electricity generators. He shared photos with Musk at the Starbase rocket factory, pictured below. The Chief Engineer gave Widodo an exclusive tour of the Starship development facility. "After a discussion in his office, Elon Musk invited me to visit the location of the SpaceX rocket production facility in Boca Chica, United States," said Widodo, "For an hour we took a close look at the SpaceX rocket factory. I have also invited Elon Musk to come to Indonesia," he captioned a photograph via Twitter.
During our recent visit to @SpaceX in Boca Chica, Texas with @SenBillNelson, Steve and I had the chance to hear an update on Starship, the human landing system that will carry the first woman to the Moon on #Artemis III.
Thursday afternoon, I visited @SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA. Since I’m not an engineer, always find visits a huge learning experience. Takeaway - important growth in 2023.
