Progress Cargo Craft Launches on Quick Station Trip

The uncrewed Russian Progress 81 is safely in orbit headed for the International Space Station following launch at 5:32 a.m. EDT (2:32 p.m. Baikonur time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

The resupply ship reached preliminary orbit and deployed its solar arrays and navigational antennas as planned on its way to meet up with the orbiting laboratory and its Expedition 67 crew members.

After making two orbits of Earth on its journey, Progress will dock to the station’s Zvezda service module at 9:02 a.m. Friday, June 3. Live coverage on NASA TV of rendezvous and docking will begin at 8:15 a.m.

Progress will deliver almost three tons of food, fuel and supplies to the International Space Station.

BAIKONUR COSMODROME, June 3 - RIA Novosti. The Soyuz-2.1a rocket launched the Progress MS-20 cargo spacecraft into orbit, which will arrive at the ISS in a little over three hours, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

The rocket was launched from pad No. 31 of the cosmodrome at 12.32 Moscow time. Then "Progress" will independently continue its way to the ISS . It will make two orbits around the Earth , and docking is scheduled for 16.02 Moscow time.

Progress MS-20 will bring fuel, water, compressed nitrogen, various equipment, rigs for scientific experiments, nanosatellites and a 3D printer to the station.

The launch is dedicated to the DNR and LNR . The flags of the republics are applied to the head fairing of the rocket.

BAIKONUR COSMODROME /Kazakhstan/, June 3. /TASS/. The Progress MS-20 resupply ship launched from the Baikonur spaceport in Kazakhstan on Friday separated from the upper stage of the Soyuz 2.1a carrier rocket, a speaker at the cosmodrome announced, a TASS correspondent reported from the scene.

The Progress MS-20 space freighter is set to dock with the Zvezda module of the International Space Station (ISS) Russian segment at 16:02 Moscow time on June 3.

The Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the Progress MS-20 cargo spacecraft blasted off from Site No. 31 (Vostok) of the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The second stage of the Soyuz-2.1 a rocket carries the Donbass inscription and its nose fairing is decorated with the flags of the DPR and LPR (Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics).

The resupply ship is set to deliver 2,500 kg of cargo to the flying laboratory, including 599 kg of refueling propellant, 420 liters of potable water in Rodnik storage tanks, 40 kg of compressed nitrogen in cylinders, and also about 1,458 kg of various equipment and materials in the cargo compartment, medical control and sanitation means, outfits, standard food rations and fresh foodstuffs for the members of the 67th space expedition. The Progress MS-20 space freighter will also deliver a 3D printer, a miniature electric guitar and strings for the violin to the orbital outpost.

NASA Television, the agency’s website and the NASA app now are providing live coverage of the docking of a Russian cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station.

The uncrewed Russian Progress 81 launched on a Soyuz rocket at 5:32 a.m. EDT (2:32 p.m. Baikonur time) Friday, June 3, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
