ISS orbit to be raised prior to new crew’s arrival.
The maneuver is aimed at creating ballistic conditions before the orbiting of the Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft and the landing of Soyuz MS-19.
10 MAR, 21:02
MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. The orbit of the Intrnational Space Station (ISS) will be raised on Friday evening to create proper ballistic conditions for the docking of the Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft and the departure of Soyuz MS-19, the press service of Russia’s state-run space corporation Roscosmos has told TASS.
"A yet another adjustment of the International Space Station’s altitude is scheduled for March 11, 2022," the corporation said.
According to the press service, the maneuver is aimed at creating ballistic conditions before the orbiting of the Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft (scheduled for March 18) and the landing of Soyuz MS-19 (due on March 30).
Engines of the Progress MS-18 spacecraft will be switched on at 22:35 Moscow time on Friday and will work for 320.07 second, raising the station’s altitude by 850 meters.
The Soyuz MS-21 is scheduled to blast off on March 18, carrying Oleg Artemyev, Denis Matveyev and Sergey Korsakov. The Soyuz MS-19 is scheduled to land on March 30, bringing to Earth Anton Shkaplerov, Pyotr Dubrov and NASA’s Mark Vande Hei.
Currently the orbital outpost is crewed by Roscosmos’s Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov, NASA’s Mark Vande Hei, Raja Chari, Thomas Marshburn and Kayla Barron, and the European Space Agency’s Mattias Maurer.

ISS Daily Summary Report – 3/10/2022
Payloads:
Behavioral Core Measures (BCM): ROBoT-r Research sessions consisting of a set of 12 runs/tests were performed. The Standardized Behavioral Measures for Detecting Behavioral Health Risks during Exploration Missions (Behavioral Core Measures) experiment initially examined a suite of measurements to reliably assess the risk of adverse cognitive or behavioral conditions and psychiatric disorders during long-duration spaceflight and evaluated the feasibility of those tests within the operational and time constraints of spaceflight for two crewmembers. Subsequent subjects perform a subset of the original activities to measure the performance capabilities of deconditioned crew members to complete either individual or crew telerobotic operations within the first 24 hours after landing. This information could help characterize what tasks a crewmember who has spent months in weightlessness can reasonably be expected to perform after landing on the surface of Mars.
Collapsible Contingency Urinal (CCU): The crew participated in a debrief to discuss use of the CCU, followed by a clean-up and stow of the hardware. The CCU is exploration hardware flown to the ISS as a tech demo. The approach includes a fractal wetting design that incorporates smart capillary fluidics. This work could have a broad impact on capillary-based fluid management on spacecraft and on Earth.
Materials Science Research Rack/Materials Science Laboratory (MSRR/MSL): The crew gained access to the furnace area, removed the processed sample, and inserted the next Microstructure Formation in Casting of Technical Alloys under Diffusive and Magnetically Controlled Convective Conditions (MICAST) Sample Cartridge Assembly (SCA) to be processed. The MICAST experiment aims to deepen the understanding of the physical principles that govern solidification processes in metal alloys.
Solid Combustion Experiment Module (SCEM): The SCEM facility hardware was installed into the Multi-purpose Small Payload Rack (MSPR) work volume. SCEM will be used to host the FLARE investigation. Fundamental Research on International Standard of Fire Safety in Space – Base for Safety of Future Manned Missions (FLARE), which is a JAXA investigation, explores the flammability of materials in microgravity. Various solid fuels are burned under different conditions and observed inside a flow tunnel. Microgravity significantly affects combustion phenomena and results are expected to contribute to the improvement of fire safety in space.
Touching Surfaces: The crew performed a periodic touching of the Touch Arrays which are deployed in five different locations in the US segment of ISS. Previous space research conducted during short-term flight experiments and long-term environmental monitoring on board orbiting space stations (such as MIR or the ISS) suggests that the relationship between humans and microbes is altered in the crewed habitat in space. This interdisciplinary project Touching Surfaces aims to investigate novel, laser-structured antimicrobial surfaces onboard the ISS. The realistic testing of the tailor-made nanostructured antimicrobial surface in space allows for the determination of the most suitable design for antimicrobial surfaces for terrestrial applications such as public transportation and clinical settings, as well as future human space mission and habitation design.
Systems:
Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Preparation Activities: Several activities were completed in preparation for the upcoming 3A ISS Roll Out Solar Array (IROSA) Prep EVA. The EVA GoPro Batteries were charged and the card was verified to be installed, which prevents inconsistent charging issues. EVA procedures were reviewed, including several briefing packages, a detailed timeline, a tool config summary, get-aheads, and cautions and warnings. The crew terminated Autocycle Li-Ion Rechargeable EVA Batteries using the EMU Li-Ion Battery Charger and the 28V Power Supply Assembly (PSA) Utility Power Outlet (UPO). Two D5 cameras were also configured for EVA activities. The crew swapped EMUs 3015 and 3004 on the EMU Don/Doff Assemblies (EDDAs) and resized EMU 3015. Hardware not being utilized for the EVA was unstowed from the Airlock and the Airlock was prepped to support EVA operations. Lastly, the crew participated in an EVA Procedure Conference with EVA and Increment team leads and other program personnel.
Temperature and Humidity Control (THC) Intermodule Ventilation (IMV) Flow Measurement Survey: To support monitoring of the health of the ISS IMV system, a Velocicalc device was used to take measurements of air flow exiting outlets and entering inlets of the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM). In addition to flow rate measurements, inspections of the outlets and inlets were performed.
Completed Task List Activities:
None
Today’s Ground Activities:
All activities are complete unless otherwise noted.

The Electromagnetic Levitator (EML) of @ESA_de is one of my favorite experiments It examines free-floating metal alloys that are heated to over 2000 °C & then cooled again. Now a new gas circulation pump was needed - not an easy repair in orbit..

Spacewalk Preps Continue as Crew Studies Combustion, Biology
Mark Garcia Posted on March 11, 2022
Two astronauts spent the day getting their spacesuits and tools ready for a spacewalk set to begin on Tuesday at the International Space Station. The rest of the Expedition 66 crew focused on a variety of combustion and space biology research on Friday.
Flight Engineers Kayla Barron and Raja Chari worked throughout Friday preparing for a six-and-a-half hour spacewalk scheduled for 8:05 a.m. EDT on Tuesday. Barron and Chari checked out spacesuit emergency jet packs and other suit components including lights, cameras, and data recorders. They also configured a host of tools inside the U.S. Quest airlock they will use during their external maintenance job. The pair on Tuesday will install modification kits on the Starboard-4 truss structure that will ready the space station for its third roll-out solar array. NASA TV begins its live spacewalk broadcast on Tuesday at 6:30 a.m.
Astronauts Mark Vande Hei of NASA and Matthias Maurer of ESA (European Space Agency) took turns installing combustion science hardware in the Kibo laboratory module at the end of the week. Vande Hei later serviced samples for the Space Biofilms study that seeks to prevent molds from growing and impacting spacecraft systems and crew health. NASA Flight Engineer Tom Marshburn worked in the U.S. Destiny laboratory module servicing gear supporting a fire safety study that could inform future spacecraft designs.
Cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov continued evaluating the lower body negative pressure suit that expands veins and tissues in the lower body possibly preventing vision changes and head pressure in microgravity. Shkaplerov then attached sensors to himself and jogged on the Zvezda service module’s treadmill for a Russian exercise study. Dubrov collected microbe samples from station surfaces and photographed them for analysis.

Yeast — It’s what's for dinner.
That could be true for future #Artemis astronauts! We are now halfway through a 5-year trial of experiments on the @Space_Station
that uses the microorganisms to produce nutrients off-world.

The ISS orbit was corrected before the arrival of the Russian crew.
The height of the ISS orbit was raised by 850 meters before the upcoming Soyuz flights.
03/11/2022 23:15 (updated: 03/11/2022 23:26)
MOSCOW, March 11 - RIA Novosti. The orbital altitude of the International Space Station (ISS) was raised by 850 meters on March 11 ahead of the upcoming Soyuz flights, Roscosmos reports.
"The orbital altitude of the International Space Station has been adjusted," the state corporation's website says.
The orbit was corrected to form ballistic conditions before the Soyuz MS-21 manned spacecraft was launched into orbit (March 18) and the Soyuz MS-19 descent vehicle landed (March 30).
The engines of the cargo ship "Progress MS-18" at 22:35 Moscow time turned on for 320 seconds and gave an impulse of 0.52 m/s. After the corrective maneuver, the average height of the station's orbit increased by 850 meters and amounted to 418.44 kilometers.
A fully Russian crew will arrive at the station on March 18 on the Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft. He is also notable for the fact that all three - Oleg Artemiev , Denis Matveev and Sergey Korsakov - graduates of Bauman Moscow State Technical University . As the general director of Roscosmos , Dmitry Rogozin , said, in honor of this, the flight was called the Bauman Launch, and the ship was named Korolev. The rocket will be decorated with the coat of arms of the university.
Now Russians Anton Shkaplerov (station commander) and Petr Dubrov , Americans Mark Vande Hai, Raja Chari, Thomas Marshburn , Keila Barron and German Matthias Maurer are working on board the ISS .
Soyuz MS-19 will return Shkaplerov, Dubrov and Vande Hay to Earth on March 30.
The head of the Roscosmos state corporation, Dmitry Rogozin, previously noted that the ISS, whose orbit is supported by Russian Progress spacecraft, is waiting for a "fall into the United States or Europe" if the sanctions imposed by the West in connection with the situation in Ukraine affect cooperation with Russia on a manned program.

Roskosmos demanded from partners in the ISS to lift sanctions.
Roskosmos has sent a request to partners in the ISS to lift illegal sanctions.
09:30 03/12/2022 (updated: 14:41 03/12/2022)
MOSCOW, March 12 - RIA Novosti. Roskosmos will send written demands to partner agencies in the International Space Station (ISS) to lift illegal sanctions from the state corporation, Dmitry Rogozin, head of Roskosmos, said on Telegram.
"The State Corporation <...> sends written appeals to partners in the International Space Station - the leadership of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Canadian Space Agency (Canadian Space Agency, CSA) and the European Space Agency (European Space Agency, ESA; Agence spatiale européenne, ASE) demanding that illegal sanctions be lifted from our enterprises," the post reads.
Rogozin illustrated the post with a map compiled by American astronomers. It shows the possible areas of the ISS crash during an uncontrolled deorbit.
"It just shows that the destruction of the ISS poses the least danger to Russia . But the population of other countries, including those led by the "dogs of war", should think about the price of the sanctions they initiated against Roskosmos, the price of the maniacally destroyed West of international space cooperation," he added.
Earlier, the head of the corporation noted that Roskosmos is responsible not only for the orientation of the ISS and its withdrawal from dangerous collisions, but also for the delivery of fuel.
After the start of a special operation by the Ministry of Defense in Ukraine, the United States imposed sanctions restricting the export of high-tech products to Russia , which affected the space industry. Russia subsequently refused to launch satellites of the British company OneWeb from Baikonur , and also froze the supply of RD-180 and RD-181 rocket engines to America .

And with a different audio file translation site:
2022-03-12-Sat-1800_trim.mp3
Speaker1: [00:00:00] Mks Moscow echo in channel 1 for anton. Anton tell me please when it will be convenient to talk for 3 4 minutes. Repeat again please did not hear you on your site 24 minutes ready was received in 4 minutes and I will get in touch. Anton answer 1. Anton, look, I got a little excited. In which part he got excited. We can have a hit in just three minutes. And here we still have a conversation, not for three minutes, we need to check everything. So I'm afraid we won't make it. Therefore, the offer is at 1844 our time, we already have a stable connection without interruptions. Do not mind 18 44 go out for 2 years on the site and no thanks, I even turned on the fire detection mode at 18 18 so far. Plus, he consulted on financing at 7 in the morning and fulfilled the recommendations as the manager behaves at the headquarters and is excellent there. Thank you very much. Anton looked like we answer. I'm ready to sum up accepted let's start then. What is our pressure. The pressure will be 43 tried to dump all work including physical exercises today in form 4 completed ready to speak the cardiogram received at 700 43. Correctly I heard the pressure something means about the receipt for the charts I listen to you set the received cardiogram 20 68 69 70 71 and 24 20 30 must be confirm definitively. And this is good because there were already replacements today. I agree it was not well received now, the request to turn off the BOD at 8 o'clock and report the amount of water in the ice to the BOD.
Speaker1: [00:02:46] If it's convenient to lay out the cruise no more. 8 hours took a good move on. Today, Anton, you also had work on prevention. What's new on the ISS and a photo of the reactor. There was a time to dump files and photos through different channels. So I'm on a new ISS, I'll still do something. Monday Tuesday after that was scheduled and no good Monday. It is good then that such information does not go far from this topic from the enclosed works. On the 10th on Thursday, the Americans passed us with food from 6 you had the opportunity to do the installation to the side in the area of \u200b\u200bthe right cabin, or that until your hands got around, you just said as far as they let me know that I would try to do it on the weekend. It's all 26 installed launched tested working perfectly accepted thanks sing anton now let's go back to form 14 on 13 03 22 25 8 10 21 23 29 30 and then block in order 18 23 36 18 23 21 22 23 26 3 4 8 19 members 5 56 6 11 31 13 24 25 47 16:30 17 51 19 17 19 26 22 19 30 captive.
Speaker1: [00:04:42] Thank you. And we still have a sheet ready to record that today was an experiment, the great beginning of the hurricane and that's it. I have a ss 26 installation and I will continue to work in the mall, and when I finish, I swear I will write the total time in the press how long it took no more than 20 minutes. Received. Anton, if I heard Dubov correctly, a great beginning and a hurricane, then it turns out right and for all four positions everything takes half an hour. Yes, well, then we will sing from you how much time do you think was spent on the TRC, please also answer. We will watch it, there are all the questions that I wanted to ask, I heard from you. Now, if you have something to say, suggestions, comments, recommendations, I’m ready to write down to praise myself for a good, quiet Saturday work that day, to wish you good night and a good weekend in touch. Thanks anton. One last request. The pressure is a bit strange. Monologue about the subway. You can knock on it and another 153 or whatever. Yes, it just sounded 700 43, even asked twice or maybe something in connection, we had 53. We had and didn’t. Thanks. It's called better asking, and now everything is fine. Thank you all. Then it means good night and successfully complete everything you have left for today. Happy happy.
