Are you all just not looking? I mean:

[...] many examples [...]
Yes, we are *not* looking.  That's the whole point - if you don't specifically look you see nothing.

Today when I got up, I looked through my Google News feed, the front page of the New York Times, and the front page of the LA Times. Not a peep about the launch on any of them.  Of course, as soon as I specifically looked there were plenty of stories, as you point out.  But for anyone who looked at the headlines from some pretty major news sources, and did not specifically search (probably 99% of all these source's readers) there is no way they'd have known more astronauts were on the way.  That's the part that's novel.

If you don't look, you won't find anything. Axiomatic.

However, it seems if you actually look anywhere, there it is...

e.g., LA Times:

It is news but not breaking news like Demo-2 or Crew-1. Even in the Shuttle era, not every shuttle mission was headline news, unless accident happened...

Critique for NASA PAO.  A manned spacecraft is approaching ISS.  When station cameras see it, show that. That's what people want to see.  Not two distant views of the backs of monitors...
