While back commentators talk about suit pressurisation. Pressurized at slightly more than cabin pressure. If cabin lost pressure  the suits would be nearly impossible move around in as difference is 14psi, EVA suits operate at 4.9psi with 100% oxygen. In this situation the suits pressure can be dropped over time, around 2hrs and switched to 100% oxygen.

SpaceX is nicely covering the Dragon 2 mission. While NASA is showing a all mighty america is leading in space NASA Trump set of speeches. Common NASA.
NASA is a goverment agency, and must do what it can to make politicians happy (since they dictate the budget). SpaceX is more free to focus less on politics.

The SpaceX channel commentators keep repeating the phrase "American spacecraft launched from American soil"... Never thought about it before, but I am beginning to wonder if it is a small dig at Russia launching its spacecraft from Kazakhstan.
No, it is not.  It is self-congratulations after a nine-year "gap" in such capability for the U.S. - a gap filled impressively by our Russian friend's long-running human launch capability.

And on that subject, Chris Gebhart on the NSF live feed just gave  nice "thank you" to the Russians and Soyuz, without which we would not still have an ISS.

A shoutout to Chris B. and the entire NSF community, especially those of us who've been following this program since the beginning. It's been a privilege being on this journey with you. My god, we actually did it...

They were well paid for the service.
You want to be inspired by things. You want to wake up in the morning and think the future is going to be great. That's what being a spacefaring civilization is all about. It's about believing in the future and believing the future will be better than the past. And I can't think of anything more exciting than being out there among the stars.

Man, that launch was more emotional for me than I thought.

Many thanks for the NSF team as always for the coverage!

Thanks for the coverage. My minor add is the difference between Nasa Live and SpaceX coverage.
SpaceX is nicely covering the Dragon 2 mission. While NASA is showing a all mighty america is leading in space NASA Trump set of speeches. Common NASA.

Thanks for the heads-up, I was looking for that. Great tribute to Elon from the President. I truly think the Commercial Crew Program will boost US to the forefront of manned spaceflight again. Bright future ahead. We space-nerds have waited so long for this!

Trump about the future of US spaceflight, to the Moon, Mars and beyond:
"There may even be tragedy along the way"... "but we will persevere and we will ensure a future of American dominance in space"

Ok I gotta ask this.

What happens if the “zero-g indicator” bumps the touchscreens? Could that issue an unintended command, like “deorbit now”?

Congrats to the SpX and NASA teams thus far, but as I noted to a friend:  Still need to dock, and of course the landing is where the payoff is!
Thanks to NSF for the great coverage and commentary.  Nice to see some fresh excitement...

The "oh shit" controls (as somebody here called them) are physical controls below the touch screen and are protected by covers.

What did Commander Hurley say right as liftoff occurred? I couldn't make it out over the Timer controller.

"Let's light this candle!!"

Just to clarify this for the younger or less historically inclined audience....this phrase was uttered shortly before the launch of MR-3 by Astronaut Alan Shepard. Hurley was riffing on it.

Try this: take any plush toy and bump it into the screen of your cell phone. See what happens. Nothing? This is because all modern touch screens are capacitive. And "zero-g indicators" lack, well, capacity. And because of this, by the way, you need special gloves to work with such touch screens.

Edit: some wording.

Yup, all the way back when space rockets were actually lighted by a candle....     ;)

If you shove a stuffed animal against your phone does it activate it? Capacitive touch usually requires something meaty to activate.
LEO is the ocean, not an island (let alone a continent). We create cruise liners to ride the oceans, not artificial islands in the middle of them. We need a physical place, which has physical resources, to make our future out there.

Seriously? You are deleting a post where I comment that your president is politicizing an event that is momentous?  This is a great day for the USA. Trump just degraded it by bringing in politics about issues that have nothing to do with this great event.

This is not a politics thread.
