Info on this X-38 specimen?

• I was visiting the Kalamazoo Air Zoo aerospace museum a while ago when I came across this mockup that seems to be a part of X-38 development.
  
  If any of you have information on where this came from and what it's purpose is that would be great!

  Looks like a VERY low fidelity mock-up...
