Fans of the original Star Trek show may enjoy watching the fan-made series "Star Trek Continues", which consists of 11 episodes done in the style of the original. While some things are different, such as the actors playing the characters of Captain Kirk, Mr Spock, Dr McCoy, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, Chekov, etc, others may seem familiar to you:

Great fan production. "Fairest of Them All" blew me away with how seamlessly it expanded a favorite TOS episode.

Yes, the production values are astonishing, the characters are played right, and the writing style is spot on.
There must be more ST fan fiction out there than you can watch in a human lifetime. This series is worth your time.

There were so many great guest stars, cameos and easter eggs in this series, besides the stories that truly make it worth watching, and even re-watching.
I was surprised at how much Vic Mignogna was able to emulate the look, speech and mannerisms of William Shatner as Captain Kirk, even if the timber of his voice was a little different. The cast did a good job overall, and the set design along with music and audio fx were pitch perfect, while the CG was consistent with the re-mastered edition of TOS.
It's no wonder that some are referring to this as an unofficial "4th season" of the original Star Trek.
It's also a shame that CBS couldn't see fit to rope in those involved with this production to make a few seasons more out of it. A show like this could have really helped in the launch of their new streaming channel.
