I wouldn't give Common Sense Skeptic much thought as he is a known Elon hater.

However i found this link that debunks his video pretty well.

Japanese telecommunications company KDDI signed an agreement with SpaceX to become an "authorized Starlink integrator" and offer service to "enterprise and civil government customers:"

Starlink kicks off Asia expansion in search of more subscribers

Quote from: SpaceNews
Starlink is deepening its foothold in Japan as SpaceX’s satellite broadband service looks to expand elsewhere in Asia, which will be critical for generating much-needed revenues.

Japanese telco KDDI announced a deal Oct. 12 to resell Starlink to its enterprise and civil government customers this year — days after SpaceX said it had launched its first services in Asia through Japan.

Starlink is currently available around Tokyo and a part of the country extending north of the megalopolis, according to its availability map. The company expects to make the service available elsewhere in Japan before the end of this year.

Gut feeling is the gateway might be collocated on KDDI teleport properties in Sendai, judging by the east half of japan mapping. If they had a bit more coverage to the west of Tokyo covering the Mt.Fuji and Shizuoka area, they would be able to cover all the vacation homes up in the hills/mountains with ease. They are also not covering the northwestern end of the Kanto plain which has quite a bit of manufacturing/warehousing, where incumbent fiber optic providers have pricing/availability that some might consider predatory.

Where is the flaw in their logic?
At 6m29s he titles a slide and uses the term "Dragon Heavy".  That's all you need to know.

Compare to OneWeb's offering through Panasonic, which is up to less than 200 Mbps down / 32 Mbps up.  Service begins 2H 2023.

Good news with oneweb. Actual competition will make both companies try harder. I don't think 200 vs 350 mb up is a big deal. Sure the number looks nice, but for whoever on a plane reading their email or watching a movie - the difference is meaningless.

Indonesia battle between Starlink and fleet operator PSN could be LEO vs GEO test case for rural connectivity

Quote from: spaceintelreport.com
Indonesia’s head to head satellite broadband match — SpaceX Starlink allied with domestic telco PT Telkom versus satellite fleet operator Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN) — will test whether a Starlink partnership of this kind is a winning strategy against an established local satellite broadband provider.

PSN Chief Executive Adi Adiwoso, who has long said global LEO broadband constellations will be unable to compete against national satellite operators with geostationary-orbit assets for remote markets, said he’s confident that the Starlink-PT Telkom association will run . . .

Here are the expected conditions for Taiwan to accept Starlink and the other Mega LEOs.  I would imagine that if Taiwan holds to these conditions, SpaceX will not be interested in providing service.  Just too much trouble for little gain.

Quote
Regarding the development of low-orbit satellites, the five major telecommunications companies in China have previously called on the National Communications Commission (NCC) to express their positions. The industry expects that the low-orbit satellite industry will improve the landing mechanism. That is, the direct shareholding cannot exceed 49%. Second, low-orbit satellites have strategic considerations, and matchmaking should be encouraged to cooperate with domestic companies. Third, the government must have the ability to monitor and master the information gate communication to ensure the security of national information.

So Starlink and SpaceX will just have to invest in a local company to operate the local Taiwanese ground stations for the Starlink terminals in Taiwan, AIUI.

The conditions are a little unclear to me.  Taiwan wants into the supply chain for mega LEOs and this "matchmaking" could simply be the application of leverage to achieve this.  I doubt SpaceX wants any true dependency on Taiwan, although I think that at least one time they were using commodity routers manufactured in Taiwan.
