Am I totally wrong?

May be a little bit. Thirsk is not planned to depart on TMA-15. The current plan is, that on TMA-15 will depart Romanenko, DeWinne and Stott(or their back-ups). Thirsk is planned to depart on STS-129. If the third seat on TMA-16 will go to a long-duration-cosmonaut, Thirsk can depart on TMA-14.

According to Novosti kosmonavtiki cosmonaut Yuriy Shargin was named as the Deputy for scientific and research work of the Head of the Main Center for Testing and Controlling of the Russian Cosmic Forces .( That´s my private translation, I hope somebody has the correct name). That suggested, he has already left the Cosmonaut Corps.

A strange picture here: http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/slideshow/photo//080911/ids_photos_wl/r1876239168.jpg/

What is strange in that picture? :) This is Ponomaryov Maksim Vladimirovich, candidate for cosmonaut-tester for GCTC Detachment.

A new update.
Minor redesign.
All data is a compilation of info provided in various threads of this forum.

Days ago (pages 3 and 4 of this thread), Olaf start a question here about the representatives of the TsPK in Houston.  Rex and Michael Cassutt fill the gaps in a list, that now I´ve added to the pdf.

Regards  :)

This information was posted by anik as long ago as August 19.
So it also seems clearer now that the Kazakhs will be getting this slot.

No sign of Nik Halik getting a flight yet...sigh! Maybe he ran out of cash...

I traded e-mails with Nik the day after Simonyi's second flight was announced. Space Adventures confirmed he is still a candidate for a flight and he wrote to me, "Space for me is the ultimate and I can confirm that I am a future orbital space astronaut and will launch soon."

According to the site:
http://astro.zeto.czest.pl/loty/stma16.htm

the selected Kazak for the Soyuz TMA 16 is or can be, Aydyn Aimbetov, while Mukhtar Aymakhanov will be his backup.

There's still one empty spot on Sergey Brin's Googleship in 2011. Hope never dies...

Vladimir Gruzdev in another candidate for that spot.

Hi all.

More than two years has passed since the last cosmonaut recruitment.

Does the OKP (General Space Preparation) has finished for them?

Regards.

Not yet,
the group was formed on October 11, 2006 but they were starting 2-years OKP on February 26th, 2007 so we must wait more months...
to complete their training.

NASA has announced that "Specific backup crew members will not be announced because of the streamlined training flow for six-person crews. If needed, backups can be selected from subsequent crews in training"
What´s about backup crews for the Soyuz flights?

They still exist.

2010
Date – Satellite(s) – Rocket/Upper stage – Cosmodrome – Time

April 2 – Soyuz TMA-18 (No. 228) –
May 30 – Soyuz TMA-19 (No. 229) – Soyuz – Baikonur
September 30 – Soyuz TMA-01M (No. 701) – Soyuz – Baikonur
November 30 – Soyuz TMA-20 (No. 230) – Soyuz – Baikonur

Changes on January 22nd

Soyuz TMA-18 -> Kaleri’s crew
Soyuz TMA-19 –> Skvortsov’s crew
Soyuz TMA-01M –> Kondratyev’s crew
Soyuz TMA-20 –> Borisenko’s crew

Months ago, it was supposed that Kaleri would be the CDR for the first flight of the Soyuz TMA series (01M).

Two questions:
1.- Do this change in order of spacecrafts will imply some swap for crews (partial or complete)?

2.- Or a swap is not possible because the crews are scheduled/training for one specific ISS Expedition (increment)?
Thanks
