In a move mentioned by Dmitry Rogozin, a few days ago, many women who applied for the 'movie in space' project, from certain professions and sporting backgrounds, have been invited to participate in a new female cosmonaut selection process.

Rogozin was quoted as saying ""We were surprised by how much interest Russian women have shown in this project. Channel One is selecting participants for an educational, artistic project, while we will be looking for candidates suitable for admission to the cosmonaut squad. All applications have been forwarded to Roskosmos and we will now hold an additional selection based on them. The opportunity to become a professional cosmonaut is no less unique than filming a movie. And we could also use our brightest women to enhance the squad."

Women identified as candidates received text messages yesterday, inviting them to register their interest in participating, by 1st May.

How serious this is, time will tell.

Do cosmonauts get to choose where they want to go for rehabilitation - or is it the same place every time?

They can choose the place for post-flight rehabilitation only from set of resorts, which GCTC has agreement with...

For some reason I immediately imagined not an earthly pastime, but the vastness of space. Let's go for a break from the busyness and noise of the city blocks of Planet Earth, somewhere on one of the satellites of the giants)))

It is clear that physical rest is necessary. But what about the psilohogical?

New cosmonaut group photos!

Roscosmos presents updated portraits of astronauts

In 2021, the next set of Roscosmos cosmonauts was completed. The galaxy of space explorers has been replenished by four newcomers who are currently undergoing the stage of general space training. Prior to this, 16 more candidates were selected for the squad during the recruitment of 2012 and 2018.

In total, there are 29 people in the Roscosmos detachment today, three of them are on board the Russian segment of the International Space Station, performing their heroic duty. Considering that two thirds of the detachment have no flight experience, the press service of the Roscosmos State Corporation decided to present the faces of future space explorers, those whose names will soon be put on a par with Yuri Gagarin, Alexei Leonov, Valentina Tereshkova, Valery Polyakov, Sergey Krikalev and others.

Pavel Kassin, a hereditary photographer, photojournalist, editor, has been working in political photojournalism for more than 30 years, ex-director of the photo service of the Kommersant publishing house, was invited to create portraits of the astronauts.

Sincere, deep portraits convey the essence of the profession, reflect the everyday and global heroism of the cosmonaut's work. Portraits in photography are a genre that continues the traditions of portraiture, in which a person becomes the main object of the image, and one of the main tasks of a photo portrait, the difference between the genre, is the desire to capture not just photographic features, but the character, mood and inner world of a person.

The four Russian ASCANs have finished their OKP

"Three of the four applicants who passed the exams few days ago, were given a rank of test cosmonauts. The rank was given to Harutyun Kiviryan, Alexander Kolyadin and Sergey Teteryatnikov.

The fourth applicant, Sergey Irtuganov, was declared unfit by the medical commission."
