After the success of the first AMS-02 TTCS repair EVA-59, and the completion of many of the tasks intended for the next one on the former, as get-aheads (slicing of MLI, removal of zipties, unscrewing of non-captive fasteners from carbon fiber cover, and breaking of the top 4/5ths of said cover so that it could be jettisoned overboard), let's start the thread for EVA-60 - the second scheduled EVA for AMS-02's TTCS repair.

Spacewalkers will be the same as in the previous outing: lead EV-1 Luca Parmitano (ESA), and EV-2 Drew Morgan (NASA).

Currently penciled in for next Friday, 22nd of November 2019. I gather the NASA briefing should be held in a few days' time, anybody knows when exactly? It doesn't appear in the upcoming NASA TV schedule.

I haven't been able to find this out: will there be a new, substitute debris protection cover installed on the final EVA for these AMS repairs?

Thanks for that. I guess they must feel that the chances of debris impacting the AMS in its location are negligible.

"...During the second spacewalk, scheduled for Nov. 22, Parmitano and Morgan are expected to access, cut and label stainless steel tubes, of which there are eight. NASA said they will connect them to the new cooling system on the third spacewalk, scheduled for Dec. 2, before performing leak checks.
In an update, NASA said Parmitano and Morgan have spent time this week going over the work necessary for this spacewalk. Additionally, another member of the six-person Expedition 61 crew, NASA astronaut Jessica Meir, is reviewing the Canadarm2 robotic arm maneuvers she’ll use in support of the outing. She’ll support the spacewalking duo from inside the ISS at the robotics work station..."

.@AstroDrewMorgan and @Astro_Luca will soon begin the second in a series of spacewalks to upgrade the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer, a scientific instrument mounted on the @Space_Station that is helping us learn about dark matter and the origins of the universe.

Final Spacewalk Preps as Life Science Work Ramps Up

Mark Garcia Posted on November 21, 2019

The Expedition 61 astronauts are in final preparations before Friday’s spacewalk to continue repairing the International Space Station’s cosmic particle detector. The orbital residents also had time today to set up research hardware for upcoming space biology activities.

Spacewalkers Andrew Morgan and Luca Parmitano will exit the Quest airlock on Friday after setting their U.S. spacesuits to battery power at 6:50 a.m. EST. The duo will translate to the far side of the station’s starboard truss structure to continue the intricate work to upgrade the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer’s (AMS) thermal control system. NASA TV begins its live coverage beginning at 5:30 a.m.

Flight Engineers Jessica Meir and Christina Koch will assist the spacewalkers during the excursion from inside the station on Friday. Meir will be on robotics duty maneuvering the Canadarm2 robotic arm while Koch manages their spacesuits.
