On Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th, both prime and back-up crews undertake final 'complex examinations' on ISS and Soyuz simulators.
The prime crew do ISS on Monday and Soyuz on Tuesday, with the sequence reversed for the back-ups.
Assuming these are successfully negotiated, the assignments will be confirmed on Wednesday, with appropriate formality and ceremony.
Good luck to all those involved.
The status of Ko San seems a little ambiguous, as although he is now widely quoted as being back-up to Yi, after all that has happened and been written, it is difficult to see how the Russians could allow him to fly, in any situation. -

At the spaceport Baikonur continues the preparation for the starting for space rocket "Soyuz-fG" of the manned spacecraft "union TMA-12".
Today in the assembly and testing housing of area 112 crews of federal space center "Baikonur", main enterprises also in the baykonurskogo branch of samarskogo "QSKB- progress" carry out assembling the second stage of rocket and electrical testings of the units of rockets, they are prepared for conducting of the pneumatic checkings of first stage of carrier rocket.
In the assembly and testing housing of area 254 calculations RKK "energy" of the name Of s.P.Koroleva and federal space center "Baikonur" perform installation into the descent vehicle of the manned ship of the armchair of cosmonauts "Kazbek".
The launch of space rocket "Soyuz-fG" with the manned spacecraft "union TMA-12" is planned on 8 April, 2008.

I have found some video interviews with So-Yeon Yi on Youtube that are very interesting from a human standpoint (In korean, but with english subtext).
They are very informal and down to earth. Very personal. 'Unpolished' maybe, and apparently before she had spoken much with PR people!. She talks about the selection process in great detail in part 1 .
In also very many details about training (apparently, the 'vomet-comet' is very aptly named), some comparisons between US and russian, and many of her thoughts and worries.
Part 3 has not been posted yet (Or I couldn't find it). -

Just to clarify, those two interviews were made in late 2006, when she was going through the selection process, but before she had made the final two.
Part 3 was filmed in early 2007, after selection but before she went to Russia. The guy who made them hopes to post Part 3 before the launch. -

To complement the two videos mentioned above, I've decided make available an article about Soyeon Yi which I wrote, and which was published in "Spaceflight" in December 2007. I appreciate that some forum members will have seen this in the magazine, but others may not.

Although this feature was largely based around a formal interview which I conducted with Soyeon in October 2007, she and I have had ongoing informal contact by e-mail, phone and MSN, since December 2006, when she was still one of ten final candidates. As a result, I hope that the words and pictures convey something of her experience, to that point, and her sparkling personality.
I'd also mention that the Korean agency, KARI, have been very supportive of my efforts.
At present, I have frequent contact with Soyeon at Baikonur, but as she isn't supposed to have unauthorised media contact I can't report verbatim what she says here. However, I think I can say that she's very calm and relaxed, enjoying the pre-flight experience, and taking each day, and its challenges, as they come. -

At the Baykonur Cosmodrome continues the preparations for the launch of Soyuz TMA-12 on April 8th.
At the spacecraft processing facility, a poster with mission logo was pasted on the payload fairing of the 11A511U-FG Soyuz-FG launch vehicle.

Segodnya at the spaceport Baikonur continue planned works on launch preparation of space rocket "Soyuz-fG" with the manned spacecraft "union TMA-12".

NASA SETS BRIEFING FOR APRIL SPACE STATION CREW CHANGE
HOUSTON -- NASA will hold a briefing at 1 p.m. CDT Wednesday, April 2,
to preview the activities of the next residents of the International
Space Station and to look back at the accomplishments of the current
station crew. The briefing will originate from NASA's Johnson Space
Center and will be broadcast live on NASA Television. Questions will
be taken from reporters at participating NASA locations.
Conducted on the eve of the docking of the Jules Verne European
Automated Transfer Vehicle to the station, the briefing will focus on
the upcoming Expedition 17 mission. Expedition 17 Commander Sergei
Volkov and Flight Engineer Oleg Kononenko, along with South Korean
Spaceflight Participant So-yeon Yi, will launch April 8 on a Soyuz
spacecraft from Kazakhstan. They will join NASA astronaut Garrett
Reisman, who has been aboard the station since March 12.
The briefing also will review the six-month mission of Expedition 16
Commander Peggy Whitson and Flight Engineer Yuri Malenchenko. Along
with Yi, they will return to Earth April 19 in a Soyuz.
Briefing participants are:

Heather Rarick, Expedition 17 lead flight director
Holly Ridings, Expedition 16 lead flight director
Julie Robinson, International Space Station program scientist
