Somewhere around 4:30 this morning Ms Chief & Ms Tree proudly brought back the 1st double catch of fairings into port. Around 9am I took these shots of the fairings being removed from the sister ships from the ANASIS II mission Stay tuned for close up fairing shots. #NASA #SpaceX

Interesting that one fairing has a lot of burn marks at the middle section, the other is clean. The decals got burned up?

I think so... there are remnants of the side stripes seen and the rest matches the meatball and lower lettering locations...
Even so... I bet they will buff and clean up just "ok" for future Starlink usage...

On edit... Might consider adding a "line item fee / upcharge" for future customers when they want a decal on the fairing...
Clean up costs and all that...  ;)
Suggest an alternate of all customer signage on S2 only, at no added cost...
Smaller but we don't care cause it won't seen again after S2 burns up... ::)

Further edit... If SpaceX gets good at this... suggest they knock $4 mil off the price of launch, IF the customer will accept reused fairings and decals on S2 only... EM said they cost $6 mil a set and the $2 mil a launch will surely cover refurb and the 2 boats lease costs and the R&D to date and going forward...

Just 'twisting the knife' a little deeper in countries and companies that consider fairings as garbage to be tossed in the ocean after every use... :)

These are the spendy fairings, with all the trimmings, acoustic insulation etc.  The Starlink launches have been launching without those (not sure on the starlink + rideshares though).

Guessing the 'fished out of the ocean' fairings are the first candidates for Starlink missions

Well, if they figure out what adhesive Electron used, they could just have the decal peel off before getting to orbit!

It always excites me to see what kind of wildlife wanders by the launch pads at Cape Canaveral. I watched a small herd of deer feeding at SLC-40 several hours after the launch of #ANASIS2 on Monday and it's such a surreal visual to see.

They get up to around Mach 10 or so on the way down. I'm surprised they aren't toastier.

Seems like most of the scorching is where the logo is painted onto the fairing. Likely the coloured paint is much more heat sensitive than the rest.

One has a big brown toasty stripe, the other does not - I think the stripe is actually the paint from the South Korean emblem that was painted on it.

B.1058 : The Return....again...

@SpaceXFleet teams in Port Canaveral have successfully returned home the historic Falcon 9 🚀 which delivered @AstroBehnken & @Astro_Doug to the ISS earlier this year.

Recovered again earlier this week after supporting the ANASIS-II Mission🇰🇷
