1/200 Monogram Bagged Shuttle Kit
« on: 05/04/2019 05:36 am »
I did a fun little project that started a few months back. I assembled a Monogram 1/200 snaptite Space Shuttle I got for 5 bucks at local hobby shop (it was a bagged kit). I assembled it and did some sanding work to close out the seams, and it was left sitting for about three months while I worked on other things. I decided to get back to it last month and did some painting, and used the stickers that came with the kit. Now it’s done. It can build up into a surprisingly good looking shuttle with the right approach. I lined the cargo bay with aluminum foil and sprayed it flat white, and also painted some panels on the wing leading edge different shades of gray, using actual pictures of the shuttle Columbia to guide me. That’s what I did the orbiter as, as it would have looked in 1981 to 1983.
I'll even excitedly look forward to "flags and footprints" and suborbital missions. Just fly...somewhere.
