NSF SpaceX ASDS Landing Bingo Comes goes to "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away." No, scratch that, its RIGHT NOW in a spot VERY CLOSE BY"

It is a period of progress and uncertainty. SpaceX, launching from their multiple bases, have made many victories in their quest for fully reusable launch vehicles. However recent defeats have thrown the outcome into doubt as the OCISLY, an armored barge with enough power (sometimes, when the generator is working) to land an entire first stage has instead destroyed the vehicle.

Pursued by the sinister agents of rough seas and bad weather, OCISLY races out to sea once again, custodian of the droid OCTOGRABBER that can save the incoming CRS-17 MILLENIUM FALCON 9 and restore the hope of reusable sea landed boosters to the galaxy...

So once again the game is afoot! Will the outcome be as proud as a Wookie's victory roar, or as bad as 1000 years of digestion in the belly of the Sarlacc?

No shotgun start, the game is immediately open!

The game remains exactly as played in prior iterations. If its not broke don't fix it.

Pick your square, one per player. Closest square to the center engine when it comes to a halt gets the prize!

This includes post landing walkabouts, or Octograbber nudges!

No prize for fireballs, debris, or damage on deck!

If it hits the ship, goes kaboom, punctures holes in the deck, falls over in transit, there is no winner. (Yes, falling over in transit is officially a thing now!) Only a booster standing tall and triumphant as the ASDS sails into the harbor will generate a win!

Water squares used to be meaningless, if falls in the sea, no winners - no prize was the rule. However since GovSat and CRS-15 both decided to do their NO ASDS - NO Problem swimabouts, if you pick a water square, and it winds up floating in one piece and is recovered you will receive a pair of rocket floaties for your efforts!

NOTE: There may sometimes be a slight delay of a few minutes at most between scraper updates, so check the last few posts before yours too, just to be sure. Scraper is operational as of this edit. Thanks to DanielW for setting the scraper up, it helps a lot!

Judging is by me, Helodriver using imagery of OCISLY sailing back into the harbor to help determine a winner. Rocketcams, helicopter or drone shots, and landing coverage will also be used, but where it sits at the time of unloading will be final.

Winner gets a one year EL TWO membership for free! If a current EL TWO member, you can donate it to another member or add it to your own term length.

The winner will also get a signed original picture of a SpaceX vehicle taken by me, suitable for framing.

Ok so after studying sailing in pictures it was obvious this was a very close to center landing. No one flew over in a helicopter or lofted a drone for this arrival either so it came down to the rocketcam.

Fortunately the satellite feed played ball and we had downward looking video through touchdown. Going frame by frame showed the booster was nearly dead center through landing leg deploy and then drifted slightly right and rotated a tiny bit seconds before touchdown.

Even though it was a night landing enough light was present for a post touchdown still frame to be enhanced and color negatived to show the outer target circle and deck edge and one landing leg to determine, position and rotation on deck. When overlaid on the game grid with the leg span template applied a winner was determined.

That winning square L-22 was picked by leovinus 24 minutes after the game opened!
