LUT apollo 1/144
« on: 03/11/2019 06:41 am »
Hello
I introduce myself. My name is Ludovic. I am French. I am passionate about space since I was little. Please excuse me for my very average english.
For the anniversary of Apollo 11. I make a model of LUT at 1/144.
I realize this project scratch. This allows me to study this LUT very deeply.

I am at the level 30-60-80. here are the photos

See you soon

Hello Ludovic, and welcome here in the Forum.
This looks very good so far.

What material do you use for the LUT and what does the Mobile Launcher consist of?

Hi Ludovic,
great scratch-building!

After that, what I can see, you have to use very good reference material, probably drawings, maybe from the Yahoo LUTGroup?

Only the mesh size of the lattice of the elevator shaft seems to be a bit too large, right?

Keep it up, I'll stay tuned.

Hello

I put on stand by the base of the tower because I'm at a point where you have to stick it. It is therefore necessary to finish the painting of the platform for this operation.

In parallel I start the levels 100 to 180

Realization of the template (which can be used for other levels). It must be precise on the height of the levels because as there are 16, it may quickly shift.

The levels 100 to 180 are already realized. I only paint gray for the moment. I would hide it for the red paint.

I am also starting the realization of the elevators. Work of series. So I start by making 1 entirely to validate the dimensions.

The elevator is finished (except paint, electric box and various wiring)

more than 13 !!!

As a model maker you should be grateful for any feedback and at least answer the questions asked ...

Hello Ludovic!!
Your average English is far better than my non-existant French. As a long time model builder, I appreciate you posting anything here, and am looking forward to your progress!

I apologize for the non-response to questions.

For the plans there is of course LUT group.
I also use these 3d images
https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/saturn-apollo-launch-3d-model-1353839
and hours of photo research on the internet

the lattice of the elevator shaft is indeed not on the scale but I did not find anything else.

Are those poured concrete floors or metal that actually needs to be red or ?  not sure what you meant by "hide it for the red paint"

(It is a beautiful build to be sure!)

Hello
To answer the question of color, I opted for the top of the board in gray and the bottom in red.
The levels are slatted but at 1/144 I did not find so I realize this smooth plate.
