I was 7 years old in 1983 when the Galactic Commander set came out and I was fully hooked by the whole line of Classic Space LEGO sets. I kept all the pieces but the box and instructions are long gone. Now that my son is old enough I wanted to rebuild it. Fortunately the internet has all the instructions. So the Galactic Commander flies again for a new generation! If you have pictures of your favorite Classic Space Lego sets, please post them.
The fantastic thing about LEGO is that it is perfectly indestructible.
I still have LEGO elements from the 1960s.

My ABS elements from that era are primarily white, red and blue and they all have changed. Gotten yellower. That affects the white and blue differently than the red, as the red can tolerate some yellowing without looking quite so off.
Just wanted to throw this out. As my son and I have been rebuilding two large bases, I'm missing parts, and this site has everything I need. Most parts are dirt cheap.https://www.brickowl.com/
