With brexit will UK still participate in ESA?
« on: 01/22/2019 02:49 am »
Topic, is ESA only for EU members (and Canada)?  Technicalities aside I'm just curious if UK will still produce euronauts.

Yes, the UK will will participate in the ESA.  Brexit doesn't affect that.

ESA already has two non-EU members, Switzerland and Norway, along with a cooperation agreement with Canada.

On the other hand, Galileo and Copernicus belong to the EU, not ESA.

Ignorance is running wild here. There is a cr*pload of threads here about ESA and its relationship with the EU. People really ought to read the existing threads here first, before asking questions that have quite literally been asked dozens of times before.

So, for the N-th time: ESA is NOT the EU space agency (no matter how bad the EU would want it to be so)

Brexit does not affect the participation of Great Britain in ESA.

Correct, ESA is just a contractor for the spaceflight elements of Galileo and Copernicus

Brexit does not affect the participation of Great Britain in ESA.

Yes, and really only the availability of funding should be a factor (as the British people may have other priorities for funds, especially if the Labour Party takes over from the Conservatives & PM May).
Remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our rights & freedoms, and for those injured, visible or otherwise, in that fight.
