MODIS Cloud shadow issue
« on: 01/14/2019 08:59 am »
Hi everyone,

I am looking at some MODIS pictures and there is something I don't understand. In the same picture, shadows from clouds on the east part go to the west, but shadows from clouds on the west go to the east.
How it is possible ?

For example:
East part: https://imgur.com/x3PhqNJ
West part: https://imgur.com/HZTZaMW

The product is MYD02QKM.A2019007.1335.061.2019008152630.hdf in North Africa. I use SNAP to visualize images.

Thank you.

Welcome to the forum!

These images simply appear to be from different viewing angles.  Or perhaps rotated.  Optics, my comrade.
