Request for the update thread posters: when posting a link to a tweet please also post the text of the tweet. Makes for much more informative posts and easier browsing.

We aim to please. :-) NSF has added a new feature where posting a link to a tweet will automatically bring the text of the tweet into the post. See example below. That works with my browser (SeaMonkey), but obviously is not working for others. I always try to post the text of the tweet and remove the https:// handle so that the autopost feature is disabled. This speeds up downloading the page.

Pic of the booster on JRTI:

"Imaged from the summit of a coastal mountain, JRTI and NRC Quest can be seen sailing 50+ kilometers offshore in his high power lens shot an hour after touchdown. This was SpaceX's third successful landing of this booster, flown from both coasts. #SSOA #SpaceX @NASASpaceflight"

Images from north of the press site on base, 7.5 miles from the pad on the Pacific Ocean shore. An unusually clear day for here with near unlimited visibility. Was able to image liftoff, reentry and almost to touchdown from this sea level site. Later I made may way up into the Santa Ynez mountains and imaged JRTI with the booster aboard sailing 50 KM offshore from some 600 meters in altitude at a summit, likely the farthest out a droneship has ever been seen from a land based camera.

We still need to verify payloads have been acquired and tracked.

From the press release. SeaHawk 1 and Capella 1 are in orbit.

http://spaceflight.com/spaceflight-successfully-launches-64-satellites-on-first-dedicated-rideshare-mission/

"One research payload includes the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s cubesat, SeaHawk-1 carrying the HawkEye Ocean Color Imager. UNCW has been funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, and NASA serves in an advisory capacity to ensure the maximum scientific utility of the science data. NASA’s Science Mission Directorate and UNCW have created a partnership to expand accessibility to the data."

“This launch was an impressive undertaking and an important milestone for the smallsat industry as well as for many of the organizations involved,” said Payam Banazadeh, founder and CEO of Capella Space Corporation. “Capella’s first satellite is now on orbit and we are one step closer to our goal of providing timely, reliable, and frequent information using Synthetic Aperture Radar technology.”

Falcon 9 Launch with SSO-A and barge landing - 2018-12-03

Justin Foley
Published on Dec 3, 2018

Launch of SSO-A mission on board a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. This video is a combination of footage shot with a Sony A7sII through a 1500mm Celestron 6" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and a piggybacked Sony A6000 with 210mm telephoto lens. Tracking was guided manually via joystick control. Landing on the barge occurs after 2:56.

It's Tony De La Rosa, ...I don't create this stuff, I just report it.

rough translation
Quote
The first connection to the Finland 100 satellite will take about 9 a.m. tomorrow morning, but even before that. A beacon signal may be received in some part of the world.

Not a confirmation, but a heads up
