I've heard David Scott describe Apollo 15 as "Just another day at the office," but Borman's detachment from the stupendous achievement of Apollo 8 and his role in it is astounding.  He was exactly the right man for the mission.

If only there were a pithy quote encapsulating his detachment.  As an expression of understatement, it would surpass Stanley's classic line, "Dr. Livingstone, I presume."
