I have a question.  Since the solar panels were "active during launch" per a callout, why wasn't Dragon oriented 180 around?  The solar arrays are facing away from the sun at deploy.  Was that intentional?  Did Dragon reorient later?

No, the arrays are actually facing the sun. The radiator side just appears very bright because it is illuminated from the Earth - which is very bright in this image due to the exposure.

The sun is actually shining from the lower right corner... see the shadow on the airlock in the trunk. So the solar panels are facing the sun.

The buckles on cargo dragon 2 appear to be AustriAlpin Cobra quick release buckles. Their product literature mentions Dragon directly.

Based on the image that we have, I believe that the buckle is a FC25MVV. That model is made of aluminum / brass and rated for up to 18kN (~4000lb).

F - Cobra Buckle
C - Standard
25 - 25mm webbing
M - Matt Black
V - Male adjustable part
V - Female adjustable part

Also conveniently available at Amazon /s

So people interested in "space merch", will note the makers sell their buckles online as well...

Sorry if this has been asked already and if it's in the wrong section. Is Crew Dragon capable of delivering Astronauts to the Gateway space station as is, or would it need upgrades?

Upgrades to LAS to launch on FH and whole additional list which should be in a Lunar Dragon thread.

I still like the F9 launched Dragon with extra prop in the trunk, that docks to an FH launched S2 with a lot of residual Prop for the TLI burn. Probably cheaper than man rating a FH. And more performance.

Fascinating, and makes sense in that it isn't going to be docking anywhere.  Seems like a rather substantial modification and... I'm going to guess it is a one-way modification, i.e. this capsule will be reused for free-flying tourist flights and is not going to go back to the ISS.

Wow, this looks great, and very clever!

Not sure this is a permanent modification, could it be just a fishbowl with a docking adapter which is mated to the Crew Dragon's docking interface?

Probably not.  The nosecone requires the docking hooks to hold it in place.  Such an adapter would be in the same place as the nosecone when closed.

Likely would take out the docking soft capture system and adapt the dome to mount to the same locations.

Why would it be a one-way modification? Seems like an odd assumption to make.

A very clever enhancement of the experience. I don’t think there has ever been a transparent bubble like this for human Spaceflight before.

Correct. It's being added for the Inspiration 4 mission in September. It is replacing the docking system.

Aren't there RCS thrusters in the ring surrounding that bubble window? That's make quite a mess of the view.

Are these RCS thrusters used before deorbitation if there is no docking to ISS ?

The forward bulkhead thrusters are located there on ISS Crew dragon, not sure about this one.

They are one directional thrusters pointing straight out.

Used for the deorbit burn aren't they?

If they are not used before deorbit they will only pollute the cupola dome once it is no longer used.
