The main component of weather I can envision being an issue is electricity in the air. I don't have access to their lightning field mills so cannot speak on that.

Looks like the NSF servers are under a lot of load starting to get error screens

We're aware and doing all we can to ramp up and up.

Well that was a day! I woke up optimistic based on my earlier forecasts, then got sad when all the space tweeters said the abort zone conditions were going to be too bad (and I have zero abort zone forecasting ability.)

Then that clamoring quieted down, so I got back on the saddle and began to get quite excited as I didn't think storms would be near KSC at T0.

Then I get really excited when it was clear we'd be fine.

And then got bit by a field mill...

Oh well - good practice for Saturday!

(PS all those apps that showed heavy rain over KSC between 4pm and 5pm seem to have missed the mark)

At least they got a crewed "sort-of" WDR out of it. Good practice.

Go Saturday!

Did the astronauts give the Dragon a name? Also did Space X  release their own Press Kit?

As the NSF gang also mentioned hats off to the SpaceX crew handling the launch, they were well prepared and well on time. Also no technical issues, but I am sure they double and tripple checked everything to avoid emberassment.

Probably not. My theory is that each astronaut will sign it once with the exception of when they refly on Crew Dragon in the future.

Pity the recovery crews who have to do another 3 days at sea going around in circles.

The servers may be under even more of a load on Saturday.

while everyone is busy de-tanking (or the opposite for some folks), I want to take a minute to express my sadness that the "go, no-go" call sequence is gone. That was so cool, set you in the mood like nothing else. I whish they could bring it back just for the goose bumps.

Yeah, maybe they should show a board at least for each station to give go / no go and at least you'd have visual representation.

Well, if no old fashioned calls on the net, then the webcast should have a live list of positions with red/green lights next to it so we see the "digital poll" as it happens and each controller gives their go.

I think they've had that on at least one launch where they showed it in advance. Might have been NASA TV and a Dragon launch (can't imagine how else we got to see a stream at go-nogo time.

Was it just me or when the CAS got to dragon it kinda ... bumped it? :) Seemed like Dragon was swinging a bit after arrival. Could have been a visual effect or CAS itself doing it, but was weird ;)

edit: rewatched it, definitely bumped the rocket and got it rocking. The background objects were all stationary in relation to the CAS black rubber cover while the dragon was swinging post bump.
