No reason for panic at the mo, these storms are moving through fairly steadily in the next hours, but I shall leave it to our weather man to explain

Having both Nasa's main feed and their media feed side by side gives you a nice dual-view of the crew!

Is the crew wearing biomed sensors?

The storm that caused the NWS to issue a tornado warning north of KSC has moved offshore. More storms continue to form to the west but are more isolated than earlier.

Does the Dragon capsule have a manual joystick for translation/rotational control in the case of having to steer manually, or would that all be done through the touchscreens?

I don't think that's a summary of what I posted :)

50/50 still seems a legit number.

Touchscreens.  Play with it yourself here: https://iss-sim.spacex.com/

For those new to weather apps - forecast radar is very unusable in these types of situations.

I'm saying it again...it's been WAYYYYY too long.

Always had this anxiety for each Shuttle launch, but this is definitely different. I think I can honestly say, this is the most nervous I've probably ever been for a launch, even more than heavy.

We've definitely come full circle from sitting in my truck misty-eyed after securing the pad from the last shuttle launch, to getting ready to restart this business from American soil hopefully today.

Godspeed to Dragon and her crew!

One more brief line of (thunder)showers headed toward the pad with a stronger storm west of Melbourne moving northeast. That should get shifted offshore.

More thundershowers exist to the west but again breaking up.

So far, the callsigns have been Dragon for the capsule in general, CDR for the Commander and PLT for the pilot.  What would have been the Test Conductor back in Apollo/Shuttle days has the simple callsign SpaceX.

I'm assuming that any callsign the crew plans to use during flight won't come out until after liftoff.  So, my suspicion is that we'll find out what they've named the capsule only if we get a launch today.

Yep, SpaceX just advised the crew that the line to the east "is continuing to erode", so we may have a chance.  Also, an advisory of steering to a good longitude for one of their abort areas to avoid a little weather if that abort area comes into play.

I wasn't aware they could maneuver to target a particular abort area once they'd separated from the booster in an abort.  I suppose you could use the Dracos to accomplish that prior to trunk sep, though.

Lovely little detail in the back when they entered the Teslas: "Electric vehicle parking only".

And yes, I'm catching up on the streams a little late.

Resuming the tradition from Tranquility Base. :)  (Whose name was first announced when Neil Armstrong called in "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed".)
