Just checked up on Lansdorp's net worth and the latest estimate is down to a million or so. What he got from Ampyx I assume. Mars One burnt more money than it ever got through crowd funding. If it was a scam, it was one of the most poorly executed ones in history. If it was honest, it would not be significantly more retarded than many 'newly rich guy wants to start a space company' ventures in the past and present.

Well.. Hey, it was fun while it lasted.  :)
With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine - however, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are
going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead.

Quote
The Gateway
The Gateway is the space station that will facilitate humankind’s migration into space.

It will allow us to take our first steps toward colonizing the Moon, Mars, and ultimately, will usher in a new age of exploration as we travel throughout our solar system and discover what lies beyond.

For decades, no endeavor in space will provide as many jobs as the construction and operation of The Gateway.

Building The Gateway will not – must not – be the job of any one country. It must be a global endeavor, created by the will of people everywhere: People who believe in the future, who see beyond the constraints of small spacecraft and small space stations, for a small number of incredibly wealthy individuals. The Gateway will be built for those who believe that everyone: rich, middle-class or poor, should have the opportunity to visit or work in space.

These people are the foundation upon which the future will be built.
They are, The Gateway Foundation.

Is it? Will it?
Should I buy my Lottery ticket now?

THIS IS A SCAM lol. You guys should really watch this. Also, support this guy and sub his channel. He barely has any subs and he puts out really amazing content!

2/3 of the videos on that guys channel are "debunking Elon Musk", "debunking Starship", etc.

CommonSenseSkeptic is an idiot.

And in those videos, 80% of the "debunking" consists of stuff like "4 years ago Elon Musk said that Starship would look like this or like that, but the person in the graphic actually has the wrong scale, so it's all a lie".
 ::)
That channel is garbage.

* https://www.boston.com/travel/travel/2021/06/10/look-at-the-ambitious-plans-for-voyager-station-a-hotel-in-outer-space/

It's now called the voyager station but it's from the same folks. It is apparently being built by a new company called "Orbital Assembly Corporation": https://orbitalassembly.com. On their projects page one of the images is a screenshot from Kerbal Space Program.

Not clear what they're actually planning to build, other CGI shows modules very similar to the BA-330 but that company is defunct.

The orbital assembly corporation has been part of it from the beginning. They're the ones who design/own the assembly machinery we see in the earliest videos. The Gateway Foundation was originally going to organize the raffle/lottery/whatever it was, and pay OAC with the proceeds. A similar approach as Mars One.

Other than CGI's using what I assume are stock models of BA-330's, Dream Chasers etc cobbled together in CGI videos with complete disregard of how spin gravity works, we haven't actually seen anything. Well, we did see footage of their supposed assembly craft in action, very zoomed in so we pretty much saw an L-section getting welded, without showing how that ends up in the finished structure.
